Villa Thetis Greece
Holiday Home Rental Description
Nestled on the breathtaking Pelion peninsula is Villa Thetis, a stunning renovated country house consisting of 3 bedrooms set over two storeys that can accommodate 6-8 guests. Retaining its original stone and wooden features, Villa Thetis offers guests an elegantly decorated environment with touches of rural Greek charm, including beamed ceilings, sprays of exposed stonework, and handsomely crafted wooden furniture.
The ground floor is spacious and open plan consisting of the living, dining and kitchen areas. The exposed stone walls, beams, and wooden floors give a rustic feel which is perfectly complemented by the designer style cosy sofa and plush cushions. Spotlights in the ceiling and contemporary light fixtures above the chunky wooden dining table offer a well-placed modern touch, as does the flatscreen TV that includes the use of Netflix, CD player and WiFi facilities, ensuring the whole family is entertained. There is also extra seating and a coffee table in front of the log burning fire, ideal for those holidaying during the chillier months when skiing is popular in this area.
The kitchen is well-equipped with all modern conveniences including an electric hob and oven, sandwich toaster, water boiler, dishwasher, washing machine, and Nespresso coffee machine. There is plenty of food preparation and storage space, and the mottled grey and neutral tones of the kitchen units and surfaces blend in perfectly with the stone walls and natural wooden floors.
The ground floor also houses one of the three bedrooms. A double room with ensuite facilities, this room is light and airy with white walls adorned with contemporary black and white framed prints, and a comfy two-seater sofa bed. Floors are light natural wood and there are sprays of exposed stonework and solid wooden furniture, all adding to the country house charm, as well as white voiles and blinds at the windows and a stunning chandelier for a touch of romantic elegance. The private ensuite bathroom features the same rustic feel with a natural palette of cool grey and pebble. There is a sunken bath with overhead shower facilities, as well as complimentary towels and toiletries.
The first floor is accessible by a wide wooden staircase, and this is where guests will find the other two bedrooms. These double rooms, both with ensuite shower facilities are decorated to the same high standard as the rest of Villa Thetis, combining the stunning natural features of the building with contemporary furniture and artworks, crisp white linens, and modern lighting fixtures. Both bathrooms are light and fresh with white walls and suites, and gorgeously patterned tiled floors. Both of the first-floor bedrooms have a small balcony, affording guests spectacular panoramic views of the mountain. Stairs lead to the terrace, where an outside dining area seats six guests. Here you’ll find a bbq grill and accessories, perfect for an alfresco meal or just a relaxing glass of wine with friends.
Following the steps down to the ground floor you’ll find your private pool and relaxation area, complete with loungers, parasol, table and seating area. There is a small well-tended lawn, as well as a decked area; all fenced off to maintain privacy while still offering those incredible views.Villa Thetis is situated in the Greek mountain peninsula of Pelion, a natural paradise dotted with sleepy fishing villages made up of traditional stone houses that ooze charm, and fringed by deserted beaches, where swimming in the clear waters has been compared to heaven. Nearby Makrinitsa is one of the most beautiful villages to visit during your stay. Due to the location a car is essential.
Known as the ‘balcony of Mt Pelion’ because of the amazing views due to its 630m above sea level location, those lucky enough to come here will be amazed by its unique beauty. Offering peace and tranquillity, Makrinitsa boasts stone-paved streets and a large square shadowed by tall plane trees. Here visitors can enjoy quaint cafes, the beautiful church and basilica, the folklore museum, and the carved marble fountain, built around 1809 and filled with crystal clear waters known locally as Immortal Water. Or why not head to the village of Argalasti to experience the region’s only fresh food and farmers’ market? Here you’ll find such local delights as freshly caught tuna, mackerel and sardines, wildflower honey, pickled mushrooms, dried thyme and oregano, tresses of garlic, and locally pressed olive oil.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
