Muro Views Spain

Cottage/Gite/Farm, Luxury Villas
| 3 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

Muro Views is perfect for those that love to get away from it all and enjoy the magical countryside. This wonderful, three bedroom villa sleeps six guests and is perfect for groups of friends and families alike. The villa sits on a huge plot with dreamy countryside views all around.
The picturesque, traditional rural village of Muro dates back to 1232 with the Christian conquest. Money lenders were allowed to live in Muro as a token of gratitude for helping to finance the war effort, so it was a town of wealth and privilege. The sandstone buildings are very attractive and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants as well as a weekly farmer’s market. Just fifteen minutes away is the buzzy tourist resort of Can Picafort with its fabulous beach and a huge range of entertainment and organised sport. The nightlife in Can Picafort is not comparable to the wild nightlife in Playa de Palma, S’Arenal and Magaluf but it does have its charm. Can Picafort boasts chic beach bars and a handful of clubs as well as many restaurants serving delicious Mallorcan cuisine. Alcudia and Pollensa are within easy reach too.
The ground floor of this very generous sized holiday home offers open plan living space under a characterful vaulted, beamed ceiling. The kitchen will delight the chefs in your group with its attractive wooden cabinetry, American style fridge freezer, range cooker and sociable breakfast bar. Just next to this is your elegant dining area under a huge chandelier. The living space is warm and inviting with lots of red scatter cushions adorning the corner sofa. This sits in front of a beautiful feature fireplace enjoying lovely views out to the pool and garden. There is a television for your entertainment. There are plenty of glass doors and windows to ensure that this gorgeous space is drowned in natural light. One of the bedrooms, a delightful twin is also located on the ground floor. It enjoys simple, minimalist decor, an ensuite shower room and direct access to the garden. An open staircase takes you upstairs to the villa’s remaining bedrooms and bathrooms.
The master bedroom suite sits upstairs boasting wonderful countryside views, a comfy double bed, an ensuite bathroom with a corner bath and access to a delightful balcony. There is another double bedroom with a double traditional wooden sleigh bed and an ensuite shower room. Each of the bathrooms is finished well with modern fittings.
Guests staying at Muro Views will delight in the fabulous natural setting. There is a large private swimming pool that is surrounded with loungers and parasols, a covered terrace, extensive gardens and a wonderful alfresco dining area with a built-in barbecue. You won’t really want to spend too much time inside in this villa. Dining under the stars is a lovely treat and your barbecue masters can cook up a storm in the summer kitchen. Muro Views is situated in gorgeous countryside just outside Muro. The village administrates the beach resort of Playa de Muro. Muro’s Museo Etnlogico de Muro features displays of traditional, rural life in Mallorca during different periods in history. It is very interesting. The lively Sunday farmer’s market is perfect for picking up supplies. There is an active bull ring in the village which was built in 1910 from locally quarried stone.
Playa de Muro, a beautiful, family friendly, Blue Flag beach that stretches nearly 4 km is a short drive away. It boasts white glistening sand, picturesque dunes and shallow turquoise water which makes it perfect for families. Behind part of the beach is the fabulous S’Albufera Natural Park, the Balearic’s largest and most important marshland. You will discover a huge variety of flora and fauna, lagoons and wild streams and signposted cycling and hiking paths. It is a great place for birdwatching.
Can Picafort enjoys a vibrant long promenade where you will find walkers, cyclists and roller bladers enjoying the sunshine. Visitors enjoy go-karting, pedal boats and fun inflatable rides. During the summer months, there are a lot of market stalls selling clothing and souvenirs. There are many bars and a handful of clubs offering a good nightlife as well as many restaurants. The Finca son Real is a beautiful and traditional finca open to tourists just outside Can Picafort. It is a great opportunity to explore the traditional agriculture of Mallorca. The gardens are very attractive and there are hiking, riding and cycling trails. Motorsport enthusiasts enjoy the car racecourse just outside of the town. Some of the karts are suitable for children. On the way back from Can Picafort, you should stop at the excellent Bodega Butxet vineyard for some delicious local wine. The Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah wines are so yummy!
Just outside Can Picafort is the delightful Sa Bassa Blanca Museum located in a beautiful Hispano-Moorish building with appealing white domes, tiled floors and doors and amazing gardens. The museum is full of curiosities, sculptures and various collections of contemporary art and photographic exhibitions. The gardens are stunning, adorned with granite animals and a wish tree created by Yoko Ono where branches are tagged with the personal hopes and wishes of visitors. Your children will want to add a wish!
Alcudia Old Town is very beautiful and picturesque. The narrow cobbled streets are sprinkled with fabulous restaurants, chic boutiques and colourful Romeo and Juliet balconies draped in vibrant flowers. The town hosts many cultural events, traditional fiestas and classical music festivals. The 19th century Neogothic parish church of Sant Jaume is definitely worth a stop. If you go on a Tuesday or Sunday, you will experience the thriving markets where you can pick up souvenirs, linens, leather goods and jewellery.
If you decide to explore further, you could go into the mountains and the charming, ancient villages. The views from the winding roads and mountain tops are sensational. You might wish you had hired a bike when you are out on the open road.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
