This 17th-century church still maintains its rich beauty, attracting tourists from around the globe. Guests are encouraged to take in the outstanding sight of the Madonna and Child statue, an iconic piece of art that was sculpted by Francesc Facula in 1985. This beautiful church is considered to be a centrepiece within Begur and is used to hold local markets and has even been used in multiple filming locations.  If you are looking to discover more about Begur’s far-reaching history, then multiple sightseeing tours are available. One of the tours, known as ‘Route Through The Towers of Begur’, is a 2-hour walking tour that guides tourists through the many battle towers seen in this town. The tour begins outside the Tower of Can Pella i Forgas, which is less than a 10-minute walk away from the centre of Begur. From here, you will travel up and down the region, discovering landmarks such as the Tower of Ca n’Armanac and the Tower of Can Marques. You will have the opportunity to learn more about how the incredible towers were used to defend against pirate attacks during the 16th century. This tour is the perfect experience for anyone looking to understand more about Costa Brava’s enticing history.  The Dali-Theatre Museum is also a popular attraction within Costa Brava, allowing fans of surrealist art to discover the prestigious work of Salvador Dali. This captivating museum is located in Dali’s hometown of Figueres, which is less than an hour away from the town centre of Begur. The Dali-Theatre Museum makes use of an old theatre building, using a stage in the centre of one of the rooms. This ornate stage leads down to a crypt where Dali himself was laid to rest. Guests are encouraged to visit the crypt and pay their respects. The museum also collates a selection of Dali’s most famous work, including his portraits and classical jewellery.
