Morzine is a real mountain town with good restaurants and après, and Les Gets, next door, is one of the most family-friendly villages in the Alps. The two share a ski area, and lifts from Morzine climb to Avoriaz and the heart of the Portes du Soleil.

Car-free heights and a traditional village

Avoriaz is a car-free resort at around 1,800 metres, with ski-in ski-out convenience and some of the best snow in the area. Châtel, near the Swiss border, is a traditional village with easy access to the Swiss side of the area.
