Rental Description

Staying in a ski in – ski out chalet is just brilliant! Chalet Vintage is nestled opposite Tignes Les Boisses 1800’s nursery slope so it is brilliant for everyone. Staying here means you have an excellent chance of being first in line to hit the slopes in the mornings. The chalet is incredibly spacious, brilliantly designed and offers six bedrooms, five of which are luxurious double bedroom suites and one is a fun children’s room for three little snow angels. Chalet Vintage also comes with a fabulous open plan living space, a wellness spa with a sauna, steam room and a swimming pool, a gorgeous terrace and the most spectacular view of Mont Blanc. It is the perfect villa for large family groups to return to after an active day on the slopes. We also feature the neighbouring Chalet Voir which also sleeps thirteen guests so if you are an extra large group, you may want to consider booking both chalets. The chalet’s interior design is stunning. It is adorned with bespoke vintage ski equipment that has been repurposed into original and stylish furniture. With traditional Savoyard charm, there are constant eye-catching surprises.
Tignes Les Boisses 1800 is a tranquil, pretty village set back from the main road and situated on the mountainside. It is sometimes known as Tignes 1800 and you will reach it as soon as you cross the spectacular Tignes dam. It is a popular ski resort that links up with the whole L’Espace Killy ski area. Although lower than some of the other Tignes resorts, it enjoys great access to the slopes and a few short lifts take you to the hub of the Tignes skiing. The gondola takes you to the L’Aiguille Percee side of the Tignes mountain and from there, you can connect to the whole Tignes and Val’Isere L’Espace Killy ski area. L’Espace Killy boasts a sensational, high altitude with the Grande Motte glacier as a backdrop. With record snowfalls, the area is a pretty safe bet for skiers. Tignes boasts 97 lifts including two high speed funiculars, one which transports you from Tignes Val Claret to the panoramic restaurant on the Grand Motte Glacier. Aside from skiing and snowboarding, visitors to Tignes enjoy an endless list of activites including ice diving, dog sledding, hang gliding, skidoo riding, ice climbing, parascending, ski-joring where you are pulled along by horses, skating, snowshoeing, indoor tennis and heliskiing.
Chalet Vintage’s wellness spa is a real treat and offers all the pampering you deserve. It boasts a brilliant indoor swimming pool with a swing seat, a steam room and a sauna. It is wonderful after a tiring day on the slopes.
The chalet’s open plan living space is amazing. There are two lounge spaces, one with vintage ski chairs that have been repurposed and look incredible and the other with comfortable, modern sofas. With a central coffee table, it is a great space for pre-dinner drinks and nibbles or family games. The ski chair area enjoys a fabulous, contemporary hanging log burning fire and a large television where you can enjoy a movie of your choice. The dining space is brilliant with a large sociable dining table and gorgeous upholstered chairs. Behind this, the contemporary anthracite kitchen is sleek and elegant offering the very best of appliances including a huge wine fridge. It also boasts a central island where guests can perch on stools, keeping the chefs in your group company. The living space offers access to the balcony where you can enjoy sensational views of Mont Blanc, the perfect backdrop for a relaxed evening in.
The five adult bedroom suites are wonderful with beds beautifully dressed in crisp cottons, plenty of trendy space for your ski holiday clothes and exquisite ensuite bathrooms. There are a range of bathroom designs, some with enormous showers and others with luxury baths. The children’s room is great fun, a treat for three happy guests who will love the mattresses on the floor, the ball pond and the decor.
Guests staying at Chalet Vintage will enjoy a premium service which includes a five star, in-resort concierge team who will ensure that you have the perfect trip. They can book tables at excellent mountain restaurants, pre-book airport transfers, ski lessons, ski rental and passes, book private transport, organise activities including ice diving and paragliding, arrange massages and much more. The service also offers a VIP welcome, continental breakfast during your stay, daily cleaning, a Clarins beauty package and full access to the chalet’s wellness facilities.Tignes Les Boisses 1800 is a friendly resort where all ages and levels of skier can have a good time. It sits by the dam in Tignes and is very popular. Skiers have full access to the L’Espace Killy slopes and mountains and can quickly be in the main Tignes resort. In the summertime, a short bus journey or drive takes you to Tignes lake or Tignes Val Claret. From there, you can whizz up the Grande Motte for some summer skiing on the glacier or you can enjoy hiking or mountain biking.
Tignes itself is a fantastic ski resort that sits at a very high altitude. It is famous for its record snowfalls and is linked brilliantly with Val d’Isere as part of L’Espace Killy. It is one of the best European destinations for skiers and snowboarders to carve up the slopes. In Tignes, Val Claret sits at 2100 metres high at the foot of the Grande Motte funicular. Le Lac and Le Lavachet enjoy more of a cosy village feel and all three areas are linked by a free resort shuttle bus. The villages enjoy excellent shops, ski hire options, bars and restaurants. In total L’Espace Killy enjoys over 300km of pistes, 150 shops, 115 bars and numerous ski schools making it one of Europe’s premier ski resorts. According to ‘The Good Ski and Snowboarding Guide’, Tignes and Val d’Isere together are one of the only two ski areas in France listed as ‘snow-sure resorts’. Tignes is excellent for all levels of skier and offers five free lifts for beginners.
L’Espace Killy is actually open eleven months of the year, thanks to the La Grande Motte Glacier. It backs onto the peaks of the Italian border too. The funicular railway that takes skiers to the panoramic platform at 3030m takes just seven minutes. It is worth the ride just for the view! The Perce-Neige funicular took four years to construct and transports three thousand people per hour travelling at twelve metres per second! The restaurant at the top is incredibly popular. There, you can take a cable car to a height of 3456m and take a thrilling ski down to Tignes Les Brevieres, have the services of a mountain guide to take you to the summit of the Grande Motte or just marvel at the glorious panorama of the surrounding mountains.
Tignes has come a very long way since the very first lift was installed in the old village of Tignes back in 1936. There are some wonderful activities available once the lifts are closed. Ice skating is popular and also the unusual activity of ice diving in Tignes lake. Evolution 2 welcomes beginners to experienced ice divers, providing equipment, guidance and instruction to enjoy this unique experience. Le Lagon Sports Centre offers a 25 metre indoor swimming pool with six lanes, a leisure pool with a wave machine, water slides and jacuzzi style massage beds. There is also a wellness area with hot tubs, saunas, a steam room and an ice bath.
Val d’Isere is not far away in the car or you can ski across from Tignes. Val d’Isere is famous for its skiing, apres-ski scene, exclusive boutiques and fabulous restaurants. The resort offers gondolas with heated seats, Wi-Fi, a number of luxury spas, a wonderful leisure centre and a fantastic night life. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, Val d’Isere sits on the border of the stunning Vanoise National Park. Val d’Isere enjoys an authentic alpine atmosphere, a gorgeous historic centre, endless chocolate-box chalets and fantastic bars and eateries. The centre of Val d’Isere is a bustling high street which is surrounded by a number of small hamlets including Le Cret, Le Joseray, Le Chatelard, La Legettaz and Le Laisinant.Semi-catered service including:
