Rental Description

Chalet St Roch is a cosy and delightful chalet choice for family, friends (or both combined) who will absolutely love the charm of this chalet, hiding in a quiet nook but also just moments away from the resort centre, shopping, eateries, spa, but also ski lifts. It offers five double (or twin) bedrooms which can sleep up to ten adults, as well as a children’s bunk room with 2 sets of bunk beds.
Alpine influence and style features heavily in all rooms. The warmth of the wooden beams and panelling, alongside the harsh stone of the fireplace, create a fabulously comforting palette of browns, greys and cream with added pops of colour, brought in by quirky accessories. Similar combinations reign in all of the bedrooms – the perfect marriage of welcoming wooden features, crisp white bedding plus some colourful accents.
The first floor is the hub of all the activity and social encounters, dining (table for up to ten) and catching up after a busy day. Enjoy a glass of champagne or a hot drink, curled up on the sofa round the fireplace, basking in the last rays of the afternoon sun (if you’re lucky enough) – there are some spacious windows in here for that, or a large terrace. You can head to the TV room next door and catch up on your favourite shows or news with UK channels and Apple TV all available for you. Up one level from this main space, you will find a master bedroom featuring a double bed, en-suite bathroom with separate shower, and walk-in wardrobe, as well as another bedroom with a superking bed (doubling as twin) with en-suite shower room. Stunning views all around from here!
A further four bedrooms are on the ground level, including a children’s one with bunk beds. The ground floor is also an area of the most sought after transition of the day – from a ski room where you can drop your ski boots on the heated racks – to the gorgeous indoor swimming pool carved straight into the rock face. Close by are the hammam, as well as an area with bean bags and sound system, perfect for anyone to escape to and immerse yourself in sounds. Afterwards you can take the lift to the floor above, where the rest of your group is awaiting you.Val d’Isere is one of the most famous ski destinations in the world. This alpine playground in the heart of the French Alps offers some of the best skiing in the world. It is also one of the highest and most snow-sure resorts in the French Alps, sitting at an altitude of 1850m and offering quick access to numerous glaciers, some of which are even open for summer skiing. The resort has an enviable snow record and can be relied on to provide world-class skiing from the end of November through to the beginning of May. The ski terrain on offer is incredibly varied and, combined with the neighbouring resort of Tignes, makes up the Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area which ranks among the largest ski areas in the world, with over 300km of pistes.
The resort itself is a combination of sophisticated and modern with historic (with a charming 17th century church at its heart) and enjoys a spectacular natural setting, at the bottom of a steep valley and flanked by dramatic cliffs and the lovely Lac du Chevril at its entrance. As well as being a skier’s paradise, Val d’Isère has plenty to offer for non-skiers. Several of the ski lifts are pedestrian-friendly, providing access to mountain restaurants and scenic walks around the Lac de l’Ouillette and the Col de l’Iseran. There is a magical outdoor ice-skating rink, the Centre Aquasportif, a bowling alley, snowmobiling and even ice diving to try. Alternatively, simply unwind in your chalet’s private pool and wellness area, or enjoy a massage from one of our masseuses.
Val d’Isère’s attractive centre is a great place for a wander and is renowned for its excellent restaurants, bars and good selection of shops. Foodies won’t be disappointed by the Michelin starred offering in this gastronomic resort, which counts L’Atelier d’Edmond and La Table de l’Ours among its fine dining establishments. There are also plenty of restaurants serving simpler and less formal fare, such as pizza or Savoyard specialities such as fondue, raclette or tartiflette. The nightlife in Val d’Isère is focused on Cocorico, Le Petit Danois and Dick’s Tea Bar, but there are a multitude of elegant bars for a quieter drink too. Try La Mourra or Le Blizzard! In terms of shopping, you can buy everything from local cheese and vintage wines to designer ski wear and fine art. You can bring your own equipment with you or alternatively, shop for it or rent it.The catering at Chalet St Roch is among the finest in the Alps and the owners take pride in an outstanding reputation for food and wine. The wine list is composed by the acclaimed Master of Wine and owner of Savage Selection wines, Mark Savage. Mark brings interesting, small production wines to the table, all deeply characteristic of their origin and beautifully paired with our food.  Unlimited Champagne is included in the stay and following blind taste tests the owners chose to serve Taittinger and Veuve Clicquot.
