Chalet Lokai France
Holiday Home Rental Description
Nestled amidst hypnotic Alpine peaks and dense wooded valleys, Chalet Lokai is a luxurious seven-bedroom holiday home for fourteen. Located on the Chemin des Boisses, right on the edge of the pistes, in the scenic hamlet of Tignes 1800, the chalet is a haven for skiing aficionados all year long.
Combining earthy, old-world designs with bold modern touches like tar-black leather couches and metallic hanging lights, it oozes warmth and style. The living room is bright and airy, with robust cobble-stone walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows, from where you can savour gorgeous mountain views.
Curl up before the crackling fireplace or bask in the enchanting wilderness from the hot tub that sits outside.
Head to the wellness area on the lower ground floor, which comes with a rejuvenating sauna and showers. Dig into hearty family meals in the indoor dining area, also with panoramic mountain views, or whip up your own recipes in the fully-functioning, open-air kitchen.
All seven bedrooms are bright and roomy, each with its own balcony, satellite television (with UK channels), and en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. The bedrooms are split over two floors, connected by a lift. All beds are single, comfy and made in Italian style, which can be zipped together to be made into a king-size double.
Set inside a modern, high altitude ski resort in the French Alps, near the Italian border, Chalet Lokai is a dream destination for skiing enthusiasts of all levels.
Beginners can avail of free lifts, while advanced skiers can challenge themselves on a variety of red and black runs, glacier skiing spots and countless off-piste options.
The chalet is only a five-minute stroll from the village center. Boasting a throbbing nightlife, the village is popular for its stylish bars, lively restaurants and pulsating music gigs. Make sure to visit Les Caves du Lac, which is the resort’s most well-known club, or stop by at Le Saloon for a quick après-ski cocktail.
From the piste outside the chalet, the Boisses chairlift is only a short ski ride away, which takes you to the rest of the Tignes and Espace Killy ski area.
The neighbouring resort of Val d’Isère is also within easy reach and offers a further 150 km of first-rate runs.
A free resort shuttle bus will take you to the charming villages of Val Claret and Tignes Le Lac, both teeming with wine bars, swanky shops and eating joints famous for traditional fare like raclette and tartiflette.
In summer, take advantage of the sweeping golf courses around. A visit to the bike park is a big yes, as is skiing on the captivating Grande Motte glacier.
