In the warmer months, blue skies and pure mountain air will draw you outside to the chalet’s vast garden each morning, where you can enjoy the enchanting scenery while enjoying a hot cup of coffee or a leisurely breakfast. The covered terrace is the ideal place to while away the hours with a good book or share a glass of excellent Slovenian wine at sunset. Once the stars have come out, everyone can gather at the chalet’s outdoor firepit to discuss the day’s adventures. The fantastic barbecue facilities also give you the opportunity to cook a delicious meal outside in the fresh air. In warm weather or cold, a dip in the luxurious outdoor hot tub adjacent to the chalet makes for a delightful experience, with unparalleled views of the mountains all around you.
Chalet Narave’s open-plan living space provides guests with a cosy lounge area where you can curl up on the sofa in front of the fireplace’s warm glow. This space also features a relaxed dining area and the chalet’s well-appointed kitchen, equipped with everything you might need to enjoy cooking during your stay.
The chalet’s two simple bedrooms are located upstairs. Natural wood flooring and vaulted ceilings enhance the welcoming ambience of each room. One bedroom features a comfortable double bed with a wardrobe, while the second bedroom features three single beds and beautiful panoramic views. The modern bathroom is fitted with a walk-in rain shower.

You will be amazed by the greenery blooming all around you in spring, with summer bringing the warm Mediterranean breeze and plenty of sunny evenings spent relaxing on the terrace. Slightly further afield, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Idrija is home to the second-largest mercury mine in the world. Here, visitors will enjoy discovering the town’s heritage through distinctive landmarks such as Gewerkenegg Castle, the traditional lace-making school and the mercury mine, as well as a number of lovely local shops and restaurants. For those seeking a gastronomic experience, Idrija is well-known for its excellent cuisine. Try the town’s signature dish, mouthwatering stuffed dumplings called Idrijski žlikrofi. If you are feeling brave, sip the unique bitter spirit the miners like to drink.
A trip to the Idrija UNESCO Global Geopark is a great way to enjoy some exhilarating outdoor activities. The park features a network of themed hiking and biking trails, so bring a picnic packed full of tasty local produce and spend the day exploring. Don’t forget to visit Wild Lake, a mysterious turquoise small but incredibly deep lake. Here you can hike around the lake and enjoy the views of its sparkling waters.
If you fancy a refreshing swim in the summer months, drive half an hour from the chalet to the point where the Idrijca River meets the Belca River. Here you will find a few Idrija locals enjoying the crystal-clear waters and beautiful nature of Idrijska Bela. This is also another great spot for hiking and cycling.
Drive away from your hillside oasis at Chalet Narave for an hour and twenty minutes to reach Slovenia’s fairytale capital city. Wander the cobbled streets of Ljubljana’s Old Town and stop for a coffee before soaking up the atmosphere at one of the city’s vibrant outdoor markets. Cultural highlights include the National Museum of Slovenia and the Museum of Modern Art, and the impressive Ljubljana Castle, with its striking position overlooking the city.
