Chateau La Moinerie France
Holiday Home Rental Description
Have a grand wedding or family reunion in this masterfully restored chateau in the Dordogne, where the new meets the (very) old. Parts of the castle date back as far as the 5th century, but inside you’ll find both modern fixtures and family antiques. Perched on top of a rock overlooking unspoilt French countryside, you’ll feel just like royalty. For a taste of the local character, descend to take a long stroll through the gardens to the nearby village of Lamonzie-Montastruc.
Up to 20 can reside in this sprawling, 900 sq metre chateau. Have a high style dinner party together inside, or spread out among the 15 hectare park to dine al fresco or lounging by the pool. Spectacular architectural details abound: like the moat, the turrets, and the 18th century pigeonnier overlooking the private pool.
This holiday chateau is easily reachable from Bergerac (11 km), the heart of the Dordogne region. There you can shop, dine, or learn about the region’s winemaking at the Musee du Vins. Then set off on a tour; dozens of wineries are nestled between Bergerac and your chateau. Pick up many bottles – here you’ve so much to celebrate!
