Chateau Abelia Du Lac is a 5-star, exquisitely decorated, 19th century chateau rental in a magnificent 105 acre estate located in the western part of the Loire Valley. It is surely one of the most spectacular chateau rentals in France, offering a 22-acre private lake, lovely island, wonderful lakeside terrace, swimming pool, palatial lawns, gorgeous gardens and forests full of wildlife.
With an elevator servicing all four floors, access to the reception rooms, ballroom, dining rooms, chapel and the gorgeous en suite bedrooms available for Guests is easy. Open log fires, internet and housekeeping and laundry services are also available. Enjoy delicious in-house dining, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and full English afternoon tea, served in the dining rooms, gardens or on the lakeside terrace as you prefer.
The Chateau sleeps 15 guests in 14 bedrooms and the adjacent Manoir can sleep up to 11 guests in 2 gorgeous apartments: the Manoir Suite sleeping up to 7 guests and the Manoir Garden Suite sleeping up to 4.
Holidays, family reunions, parties, seminars, vacations, weddings and wedding vow renewals are welcome, including use of the original Chapel and Silver Reception Room, and all services including photographer, hairdresser, flowers, etc. can be arranged. We specialise in custom tailoring our offerings to fulfill your dreams and making your visit a truly memorable experience. Note 1: the advertised prices are for 15 guests. Up to 11 additional guests can be accommodated in the adjacent Manoir comprising of 2 apartments at an extra charge of €100 per night per apartment.
Note 2: the property is available for rentals of minimum 3 nights. Surcharges apply for weekend short-breaks (Friday, Saturday).
There are lovely walks amongst the gardens, around the lake’s 2.5 kilometer shoreline, and through the woods. The swimming pool and adjacent pool house offer delightful relaxation in or out of the sun. Excellent carp fishing can be enjoyed in our lake.
Wine tasting, golf, horseback riding, bicycling, river boat tours, museums, churches, restaurants and shopping are all nearby.
The Chateau is well situated just 20 minutes from Angers with its great shops and restaurants. Angers is 75 minutes from Paris via TGV, and the international airport in Nantes is about an hour away.
There are many other delightful villages to visit nearby. Enquiries from location agencies, location scouts and location managers are welcome as the Chateau is also available as a castle location rental for film, movie & television productions, TV series, commercials, and fashion shoots, etc., in the Loire Valley, France.

Chateau Abelia Du Lac is known for its excellent food and lavish table settings. Breakfast, lunch, a full English afternoon tea and dinner are all availbale on request at extra charge and can be served in the private Chatelain’s Dining Room, the elegant Silver Reception Room, the casual Country Dining Room, Courtyard or Lakeside Terrace – whichever you prefer.
The price of dining at the Chateau varies with menus choices, which must normally be confirmed and paid for prior to arrival. Gourmet picnic baskets are normally available with 48 hours notice. The Chateau is also known for its splendidly warm and welcoming service, and the staff’s genuine attitude that no guest’s request is too much trouble.
The full commercial kitchen equipped to cook for 100+ people is only available for catered services. A well-equipped residential kitchen is available for self-catering (microwave, oven, stove, fridge, toaster, coffee maker),
