Chateau Gombardy France

The exceptional 15th century Chateau Gombardy is located in the Loire-Anjou-Touraine national park and has been beautifully restored to its former glory. The local area is known as the “Garden of France” and is famed for its fine wines and immaculately groomed vineyards, charming villages and romantic chateaux. The ancient cities of Nantes, Saumur and Orleans are nearby and the River Loire itself is a short walk from this holiday chateau.
The Chateau Gombardy is perfect for reunions, corporate hospitality, holidays and is particularly suitable as a French wedding venue on account of the chapel situated within the grounds. All buildings on the estate have been fully restored to their original glory and feature modern bathrooms and central heating throughout.
The Chateau Gombardy Estate is available throughout the year and sleeps a total of 12 guests. The swimming pool lies adjacent to the south facing Orangery and there is also a brand new hard court tennis facility on site.
Guests will have access to all the public rooms on the ground floor and the 4 large en-suite bedrooms on the first floor (able to sleep up to 10 people).

A coach house is also located within the grounds of this French holiday Chateau which can be booked in conjunction with the chateau to sleep a further 4 guests. The Coach House is never rented to an independent group. A double room and a twin single.

The chateau is suitable for reunions, weddings, mini-conferences and holidays. You may wish to make your own arrangements, help is on hand should it be required.
An optional concierge service includes everything from a chauffeur driven car to a laundry service.
A chef can be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily or for a single special event.
Maid service is available for 4 hours on 3 days during a week at €12.50 per hour payable in cash to the maid directly. Full daily service is available on request at an additional charge.
WEDDINGS
THE CHAPEL
Due to French regulatory and medical requirements all bridal couples (35 since 2003) have been legally married in their country of regular residence prior to a blessing in the consecrated chapel with an English vicar/priest officiating. The Chapel is located within the walled grounds of the Chateau and has a capacity of about 80 persons. Personal and humanist weddings are held in many locations throughout the property.
CAPACITY
Overnight sleeping 12
Winter weddings; 24 seated at one table in the Chateau.
Spring & Autumn weddings; 40 plus seated at a long table in the sunlit Orangerie.
Summer weddings: 100/120 in a marquee on one of the Chateau’s lawns. Pre-dinner drinks and canapes on either the terrace, rose garden or around the lake with the fountain. Enjoy the gardens which have great photo locations.
AVAILABILITY
The Chateau is available for rent year round on a self catering or fully catered basis. Clients have the choice of a 3 or 4 night booking. Midweek bookings are available, except from mid May through end of September during which time a Saturday to Saturday booking is the rule.
WEDDING COORDINATOR
A bilingual coordinator is available and can work with the suppliers of the following services; Vicar, Flowers, Hairdresser, Seamstress, Disco/DJ, lLve Musicians, Fireworks, Hotel or B&B bookings, Taxis, or mini-coach hire.
CATERING
The coordinator can assist in the choice of caterer. The premier caterer in the region charges about 85 euro (2008 prices), for a 5 course meal including wedding cake and cocktail with the canapes. Luxurious table settings with great presentation. Another caterer charges about 60 euros for a 5 course meal including wedding cake and canapes. Another does a budget wedding celebration for about 40 euro. There is also the option of a day long roasted pig on a spit, served buffet style for 30/40 euro depending upon numbers.
TRAVEL
Chateau Gombardy is very easy to get to in a stress free manner. Tours and Angers airports are 45 minutes distance; Potiers is 1 hour with Nantes airport 11/2 hours. Charles de Gaulle airport to the North of Paris has a direct train service (no changes) from within the airport to Tours TGV 1 1/2 hours. Rental cars are available at the RR station. By car, Caen is 3 hours and Calais 6 hours. All driving is on a divided highway.
