Hampshire Castle United Kingdom

| 11 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

For a truly bespoke stay in the heart of an exclusive 40,000 acre estate in stunning Jane Austen country, you need look no further than Hampshire Castle. This incredible Georgian property set in the idyllic Hampshire countryside boasts eleven bedrooms, and can accommodate up to twenty-one guests for anything from family holidays and corporate events, to hunting groups and private parties.
During your stay your every whim will be catered for by the incredible team of in-house professionals, from the daily turn down service and creating fresh flower arrangements throughout the house, to keeping the fires lit all winter and the outdoor pool heated all summer.
This breathtakingly luxurious English estate has had links with royalty for almost a thousand years, and with its incredibly decadent interior design and plethora of high-end amenities you too can live like British aristocracy. Eight reception rooms and a grand formal dining room offer guests endless possibilities of where to relax and entertain, some rooms with a spacious open feel and others with a cosier vibe. All are decorated to an incredibly high standard in beautiful tones of cream and gold. Rich terracotta shades add a warming glow – especially when paired with a roaring open fire and ornate lighting fixtures, and there are deep reds and royal blues in the luxurious soft furnishings.
Hampshire Castle is certainly steeped in history which seeps from every pore, and this is reflected in the incredible works of art on display in every room, yet this palatial residence definitely doesn’t skimp on modern contemporary touches, such as TV with streaming Media Player, Sonos Sound System, wireless internet access, Espresso coffee machine, games console, and an incredible cinema room where the whole family can snuggle down for a movie night, as well as a billiards room.
Hampshire Castle features ten double rooms and a single as well nine bathrooms, many of which are en-suite, all decorated in the same opulent style as the reception rooms. Incredibly spacious and light with huge windows that offer breathtaking views over the grounds, each room features large comfortable beds dressed in 100% Egyptian cotton linen. A neutral colour palette has been used throughout these rooms with walls and carpets in various shades of fresh cream, taupe, and stone. Colour accents are subtle and tasteful; powder blues and light olive hues, and furniture is solid in rich dark woods, as are the ornately framed mirrors and artworks. This fresh clean decor is replicated in the bathrooms, with fresh white suites and luxurious deep tubs, the perfect place to relax with a glass of something after a busy day of being waited on hand and foot.
No rambling country estate would be complete without spectacular grounds to enjoy, and Hampshire Castle certainly does not disappoint. Ten acres of gardens are yours to explore, including a kitchen garden providing fresh produce for the guests, and a cuttings garden that supplies the house with fresh flowers throughout the year. There’s also an elegant glasshouse and a classic English rose garden, as well as a serpentine walk and sculpture pond. An orchard and boating lake – home to koi carp – can also be found on the grounds, as well as tennis court and cricket pitch with pavilion, and of course the glorious heated swimming pool, which is open May to September.Situated just an hour’s drive from London, Hampshire Castle can be found in the small village of Hampshire Castle in Hampshire, just 2 miles south of Basingstoke. Hampshire offers the perfect blend of city, coast and country, boasting two National Parks, and a thriving culture with history and heritage at its heart. Known as Jane Austen’s County after its most famous daughter, Hampshire has a wealth of attractions to entice visitors, including excellent museums themed around military, maritime and aviation history, and the chance to visit the homes of the County’s most celebrated residents such as Charles Dickens, the Duke of Wellington, and of course Ms Austen herself.
Urban Hampshire’s port cities and historic market towns offer high-end boutiques and antique shops as well as independent cafes and fine dining restaurants, but if you are after something a little less cosmopolitan there is always the heath and woodland of the New Forest to explore with its miles of ancient woodland, traditional pubs and famous ponies. There are popular attractions here too, such as the National Motor Museum and the beautiful Exbury gardens. The rolling chalk hills of the South Downs are another popular destination with visitors, providing spectacular scenery and the ideal opportunity for walking, cycling or riding.
If sea breezes and salty air is what you crave then Hampshire has that covered too; the County’s unspoilt coastline extends for miles and makes for a relaxing day out. Here you can enjoy water sports, cycling and swimming as well as taking in some incredible coastal views.Hampshire Castle Activities:
