Luxury Villas
|1 Bedroom|

Rental Description

Nestled on a lush headland on Antigua’s sparkling southwest coast, these stylish one-bedroom suites are part of the Tamarind Hills boutique collection  of beachfront villas and apartments, designed with laidback Caribbean living in mind. With sun-soaked terraces and dreamlike views of the ocean, you will be ready to return to this enchanting island paradise time and time again!
The suites exude effortless charm with relaxed, contemporary design touches, echoing the natural colours and textures of the surrounding island. A bright and airy open-plan layout features a four-poster bed inspired by local driftwood, the perfect place to begin your day of complete rest and relaxation. Have a leisurely breakfast of fresh fruits on the terrace as you watch the turquoise waves rolling towards the sandy beach below, where you will soon be lounging in comfort before an afternoon swim in the ocean. The suites also feature a simple kitchenette with two induction stovetops, as well as an indoor dining area, in case you fancy a midday snack or an evening cocktail as the sun goes down.
There are comfortable sofas and chaises longues in each suite, where you can cosy up with a book when you feel like taking a break from the sun. The suite is fully air-conditioned throughout, with a fan above the bed to keep you cool during the beautiful Caribbean nights. No detail has been overlooked when it comes to ensuring that your island escape is a blissful experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. There is a housekeeping service every other day, with a concierge service also available during your stay.
A bright, modern bathroom comes complete with two wash basins, a walk-in rain shower and a large bathtub, ideal for a luxurious soak after a day spent exploring the wonders of Antigua. The private terrace is yours to enjoy at any moment of the day, from the morning sunrise over the ocean to a night spent chatting under the stars.
These island suites are perfectly situated between two dazzling beaches: Darkwood Beach and Ffryes Beach. The heavenly Antiguan coastline offers visitors clear, calm waters and pristine white sands, with a picturesque backdrop of tropical green hills. On Ffryes Beach, there are sumptuous sun loungers laid out on the sand, as well as the exclusive Tamarind Hills Beach Club a few steps away, boasting its own bar, restaurant, and salt-water swimming pool, where guests can unwind in luxury.  For a choice of excellent restaurants, the marina at Jolly Harbour is only a five-minute drive away. From here, you can set off to discover more of the island or make your way back to your stunning ocean view suite, just in time for sunset. The nation of Antigua and Barbuda encompasses its namesake sister islands and several smaller islets, all located in the heart of the beautiful Caribbean. While Antigua is the largest of the nation’s islands, it remains a remarkably small corner of paradise at just 281 km², making it the perfect place for a relaxed Caribbean getaway. With 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to your next dip in the ocean!
Thanks to the superb location of Tamarind Hills on Antigua’s stunning south-west coastline, you will have the silky soft sands of Ffryes Beach and Darkwood Beach right on your doorstep. Overlooked by green hilltops and the occasional historic windmill, Ffryes Beach is a popular spot with tourists and locals alike. You can swim and snorkel in the crystalline waters here, before indulging in a long lunch at a local restaurant. Don’t forget to bring your camera down to Darkwood Beach, known for being one of the most picturesque places on the entire island, for a sunset stroll and a cocktail at one of the laidback open air beach bars.
Only a twenty-minute drive away, the Antiguan capital of St. John’s is easily accessible. This small and colourful Caribbean port city is home to an impressive neo-Baroque cathedral and lively public markets by the harbour every weekend. There is plenty more shopping to be done at Heritage Quay and Redcliffe Quay. For a chance to learn more about the nation’s heritage and fascinating history, you can also visit the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda in St. John’s, located in the old colonial Court House which dates to 1747.
Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring an eighteenth-century British naval dockyard. As well as being a site of great historical and cultural significance on the island, this is also a popular venue for maritime events. Antigua Sailing Week was founded in 1967 and attracts hundreds of yachts every year. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, you can charter a sailboat for the day or arrange an excursion out on the water.
Nelson’s Dockyard also offers adventure-seekers plenty of activities on dry land, including a number of fantastic trekking trails. Consider hiking to Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout with panoramic views, which happens to be one of the island’s most popular destinations. Shirley Heights is well known for its famous Sunday afternoon party, where visitors are welcome to take part in the festivities. Listen to live Caribbean steel drum bands, try some of the local food and rum punch and take in the out-of-this-world panoramic views as the sun begins to set on Antigua.
Blissful beaches are only the beginning of all the natural beauty and cultural vibrancy this friendly island has to offer. With hiking trails, watersports, culinary delights, museums, exotic birds and rainforests, visitors will be enchanted time and time again by Antigua’s breathtaking landscape and rich culture. At Excellence Luxury Villas, we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
