Villa Nyoman Indonesia
Holiday Home Rental Description
A peaceful hideaway inside a private resort complex with access to an exclusive beach, this luxurious villa ensures an invigorating and relaxing holiday.
Designed in a colour palette of coffee and cream and drawing inspiration from feng shui and traditional Balinese houses, Villa Nyoman showcases wood and natural materials. In Balinese culture, the houses are designed to harmonise with the environment. This villa is perched on a 90m high cliff, close to the sea temple of Uluwatu and many other amenities in one of the island’s most fashionable areas.
As you walk into the main entrance of the villa, you’ll be greeted by the delightful pond – look out for sacred ‘koi’ fish. The outside has green painted details, which add a fresh take on the neutral decoration.
The pavilion garden has been designed around a courtyard with ample space to socialise outside by the enormous green java stone pool. The private swimming pool is the jewel in this villa’s glittering crown. Fringed by swaying palm trees and gorgeous foliage, you’ll have a stunning view as you take a cooling dip in the pool. Plenty of sunbeds face the pool and there’s also a wicker swing chair, where you can sway and relax in the peace and serenity of the garden.
The villa has two layers, with two bedrooms on the ground floor the exquisite master quarters across the entire first floor. It would be particularly suited to a family with children – everybody has their own space, but can enjoy the common living areas together. The open plan living space is airy and fresh, decorated with a bamboo backdrop. Sink into the huge sofa and watch the flat screen TV or curl up with a good book.
There are opportunities to dine indoors as a group or alfresco. You can either use the fully equipped kitchen or utilise the villa’s private chef, who can create a delicious Indonesian or Western meal, as well as rustle up a seafood barbecue. Villa Nyoman is situated at the southernmost tip of Bali in the naturally beautiful Bukit area, near plenty of amenities. It’s a little more under the radar than other areas of Bali, so guests have a more peaceful, local experience. At the same time, it’s not too far to take day trips to Seminyak, Tabanan or Canggu.
One of the best aspects of this villa is access to the jaw-dropping Karma Kandara private beach. Make your way down using the unusual funicular to the sun-kissed shoreline. A mixture of aquamarine and deep blue water, swimming here is paradise. Sunbeds overlook the ocean and a manicured lawn area. If you can bear to tear yourself away, other beaches in the area include Jimbaran Bay and Padang Padang beach. Both are popular with surfers around the world and you can enjoy fresh seafood here. One of Bali’s most recognisable landmarks, Pura Uluwatu temple is in the nearby area. Supremely popular with photographers, the 11th-century sea temple is nestled atop craggy limestone cliffs and is particularly lovely at sunset. The temple hosts Kecak fire dance shows every evening that tells the story of Ratnayana through dance and chanting.
The dancers wear beautiful costumes, and visitors wear a sash on the hip to show respect in the temple. Being part of the ceremonies is a really special way to get acquainted with the spirituality of Balinese culture.Additionally, Ungasan is close to Garuda Wishu Kencana, a cultural park that celebrates the arts and spirituality of Bali. Here, you’ll find the world’s biggest and highest statue. There are depictions of the Hindu god Vishnu, on one he is riding a mythical bird. There are also fire dances here, a fountain said to have healing powers and at 260 metres above sea level, gorgeous surrounding views.
The Bukit area is perfect for art lovers, as you can visit the Jenggala Gallery and see local craftspeople at work making ceramics, buy some pots as souvenirs and even take a pottery class. Anyone interested in Asian or Indonesian art should also check out the Museum Pasifika. You can also try your hand at making your own perfume at the L’Atelier Parfums et Creations. Professional parfumiers will help you create your signature scent and make a bottle home with you.
Thrill-seekers can try their hand at paragliding, as the southerly winds from May to October are perfect. You’ll go in tandem with an instructor and get an unparalleled view of Bukit from above.
From Bukit, you can drive to Seminyak, Bali’s premiere upscale beach resort. A playground for jet-setters, fashionistas and yogis, it’s full of fashionable boutiques where you can shop til you drop and delightfully fancy spas. Indulge in a quintessentially Balinese massage and spend the day getting pampered. Seminyak has an excellent nightlife, atmospheric cocktail huts and superb sundowners at beach clubs. At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
