Carpe Diem France
Holiday Home Rental Description
This renovated farmhouse-turned-villa in the Dordogne offers unparalleled access to Bergerac, just 10 km away. Inside the home retains its original country charm; the stone walls, tile floors, and rustic wooden beams remain. Though the kitchen is modern, butcher block counters make it feel warm and welcoming. The downstairs bedrooms are decorated with children in mind, while the grown ups will love the air conditioned dormer bedroom upstairs.
Outside your holiday villa, there’s plenty to entertain the whole family – the large lawned gardens have a trampoline and swing, and the fenced pool will keep the kids splashing all day. The gazebo, poolside loungers, barbecue, and table beneath a trellis provide picturesque spots for the grown-ups to relax, too. Located in the serene commune of Queyssac (population < 500), you can hike all day and barely see another soul.
For more metropolitan excitement, head in to Bergerac. Here you can wander the medieval streets, filled with adorable shops and restaurants. If the kids are in tow (or if you simply love chocolate), stop in at Rody Chocolaterie. For more adult fun, visit one of the dozens of wineries, or see a Folies Bergère style show at Le Music Hall.
Offering all comforts and roomy accommodation for up to 7 guests, Carpe Diem is ideal for a getaway in one of the most attractive destinations in France. Queyssac is a tiny village in Dordogne in the South-West of France, surrounded by a beautiful nature and a short drive from Bergerac and its international airport.
The whole area swarms of tourist attractions and entertaining activities including wine-tasting tours such as the famous Route des Vins de Bergerac, cruises down the Dordogne river, horse-back riding, tennis and golf.
The region boasts the world renowned Bergerac appellation wine area which covers 12,700 hectares. Wine has been produced in the region for well over 400 years. Wine enthusiasts will find similar grapes to those found in the Bordeaux region including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec reds; Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadet whites.
Many vineyards welcome visitors and offer tastings. The formal ‘route de vin’ maps out a plan of the vineyards in the area.
The Dordogne is the supplier of almost half of France’s fine produce including truffles, cepes and foie gras, which are available at the Metairie adjoining the estate.
Periguex, famous for its golf courses, is 45 km far, whereas Bordeaux airport is at 125 km.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
