Villa Bosca Italy
Holiday Home Rental Description
Dating back to 1600 and encompassed by far reaching views of the verdant Tuscan countryside, this remarkable villa in Tuscany, just south of Siena, is now an elegantly restored holiday home and an ideal wedding venue.
The main villa emanates sophistication with antique furnishings, cozy sitting rooms, an elegant fireplace, and a beautiful communal space that’s perfect for wine and food tastings or as a reception room. Eight tasteful bedrooms boast en suite baths, and you’ll have a mini bar and two large verandas to enjoy as well.
Once a storage facility for farm machinery, the annexed brick building in the garden has since been converted to a comfortable apartment, containing two additional bedrooms with en suite baths and a Jacuzzi.
Outside, guests can relax by the pool surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. There are plenty of spots to enjoy alfresco dining and the extensive grounds are ideal for creating enchanting celebratory gatherings, including a central patio for dancing the night away.
You’ll find quaint cafes and pizzerias in the town of Trequanda, along with multiple thermal spas nearby. The charming hill towns of Montalcino and Montepulciano, are close too, home to the world renowned Nobile and Brunello wines. Located 30 km south of Siena, Villa Bosca Estate offers stunning views over the Tuscan countryside as far as Siena and Monte Amiata. The villa is set on a farming estate, producing its own wine and olive oil. The farm will also do catering for guests. It is easily reached from the A1 motorway and is ideal for visiting the surrounding Tuscan towns.
This area of Tuscany is considered to be the most desirable region, south of Siena and close to the wine regions of Montalcino and Montepulciano.
Local places of interest:Montalcino is beautifully situated on a hill inhabited since Etruscan times, swathed in vineyards and olive groves. It is a quiet, affluent, attractive town with pretty buildings and flower-filled squares. There are many shops selling the Brunello di Montalcino wine. Montalcino has a good selection of shops and many delicious restaurants. The famous Sant’ Antimo Abbey, one of the finest Romanesque churches in Tuscany, is located just outside of town.
Montepulcino is a graceful Tuscan hill town, best known for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which was being praised by connoisseurs over 200 years ago and can certainly contend with Italy’s best wines today.
Chiusi is one of our favourites because of its unpretentious liveliness. Compared to Montepulciano, it is untouched by tourism. Chiusi has a railway station for a quick ride to Rome.
Monticchiello is a pleasant, walled village, whose crooked watch-tower is visible from afar. Next to the church is a small shop which sells local linens (towels, bedspreads) and materials in pure linen. They use traditional methods and patterns and the results are extremely attractive.
Visit the abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore and the semi-derelict monastery of Sant’Anna in Camprena – a very romantic setting which served as the location for the film ‘The English Patient’.
Close to the property are several thermal spas including Rapolano Terme and the San Giovanni Terme.
Throughout the area, the countryside is dotted with monasteries and castles of historical and cultural interest.
Further afield:Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, Volterra, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Orvieto, Viterbo and a wealth of sites and attractions are within easy reach.
