It is nestled in the tranquil village of Muda, just minutes in the car from the most iconic Comporta beaches.
Muda is a tiny hamlet, between Comporta and Bicas, on the way to Grandola. It is an increasing beloved place for tourists with breathtaking surroundings combining the best of the countryside along with the sensational beauty of the Alentejo coast beaches. Surrounded by undulating umbrella pines, cork trees and stunning rice fields, guests truly get away from it all in Muda. Being close to Carvalhal and Comporta, visitors are only minutes from amazing restaurants, beach bars and shops. Herdade da Comporta is comprised of seven tranquil villages including Muda, Carvalhal, Comporta, Brejos da Carregueira, Carrasqueira, Possanco and Sol Troia. The fabulous towns of Troia, Grandola and Alcacer do Sal are within easy reach. The Comporta region is known for its surf, wild beaches and fabulous beach restaurants.
Casa Mubranca enjoys fabulous views from almost every angle. Every single space is stylish and full of handpicked furnishings and accessories that are totally captivating. Every time you walk in a room, you will notice another special touch that makes you smile. This truly distinctive villa was custom built and furnished with the greatest attention to detail.
The cavernous living space of the villa is astonishing. With its vaulted, beamed ceiling, apex windows and walls of glass, with its lavish contemporary furnishings, sensational gastronomic kitchen and its central, ultra modern fireplace, guests are treated to the most luxurious and amazing of spaces. There is even a gigantic oil masterpiece which looks magnificent against the other contemporary features. This double-height wondrous space is drowned in natural light and the views of the lush garden are simply astonishing. It doesn’t matter if you are sitting on the trendy corner sofa or at the dining table, there are magical sights everywhere. There might be a cactus that catches your eye or a towering tree but you know it is all deliberate. It is just so cool! The kitchen is a marvel with stunning cabinetry, gorgeous worktops and superb appliances.
The villa’s six bedrooms are no less stunning. In a totally understated way, they are magical. You might have a modern four poster or another gorgeous bed, the walls and wardrobes might be brilliant white, the linens dazzling white and the lamps too but there will be an intricately carved piece of furniture or just a lush green view that just looks magnificent. The ensuite bathrooms are also ultra stylish with cool materials and the very best of fittings. An additional space, adjacent to the main villa and with a walkway between the two, is a fabulous den for children with a lower living space, complete with sofas and a television and an upper bedroom and bathroom space. It is a great space for older children.
The natural gardens are stunning. A gorgeous 12m x 6m swimming pool sits to one side of the villa, surrounded by a terrace, trendy loungers and the dappled shade of the towering pines. It is a lovely spot to enjoy the Portuguese sunshine, a glass of your favourite tipple and your holiday book. You will not forget Casa Mubranca for a long time! The tiny hamlet of Muda is located between Comporta village and Grandola. It is 17 minutes from Comporta and roughly 1h 20 min from Lisbon. The hamlet is brimming with tall pines and ancient cork trees, a very natural area. The area has become increasingly popular. Visitors enjoy horse riding, surfing lessons, yoga, boating, sailing, wildlife watching and much more. Although Muda is not right on the beach, it takes just minutes in the car to visit some spectacular wonders. On one side you can visit the beaches of Comporta, Pego, Carvalhal and Troia. In the other direction, you can visit the beaches of Melides, Santo Andre, Porto Covo and Sines.
Melides is filled with the scent of pine and eucalyptus and is a stunning coastal stretch that is home to a thriving creative community. The village has been in existence for more than five hundred years as a sleepy hamlet. Now its white cobbled central square is flanked by low, red-roofed, painted cottages but the sounds of cutlery on plates, clinking glasses and the smells of fish sizzling over coals is becoming more evident. Striking new villas, just like Casa Mubranca, are starting to dot the hills and river estuary. The international jet set are starting to make this backwater their own, including the French designers Christian Louboutin, Philippe Starck, the German artist Anselm Kiefer, the British painter Jason Martin and the Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen. The beach is stunning so expect to see gorgeous dunes and fascinating wind-sculpted rocks on the beach together with thrilling waves.
Carvalhal enjoys a good array of cafes and restaurants as well as a central shopping street brimming with antique shops, boutiques and decorating shops. Spa Oryza offers wonderful wellness treatments using natural products as well as yoga and beauty workshops.
The charming village of Comporta is located at the base of the Troia peninsula and at the side of the Sado estuary. With a history going back to the Roman Empire, Comporta is still a hive of agricultural production with rice fields and vineyards producing some fine white, red and rose wines. Golfers love Comporta. Its fabulous Comporta Dunes course was designed by David McLay Kidd within a stunning terrain of pine forest and sand dunes close to Pego beach and Comporta Links is under construction. The nearby Troia championship golf course was designed by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones. Comporta offers an excellent array of activities including horse riding, fishing, hunting, sailing, bird watching and cycling. Comporta beach is a ten minute walk from Comporta village.
Brejos da Carregueira is located between Comporta village and Carvalhal. Again the village is surrounded by rice fields and pine forest. The village enjoys an almost private beach which you reach through the fields. Carrasqueira village is located on the banks of the River Sado estuary with lots of agricultural land and colourful fishing boats. Its main street is lined with an array of restaurants, bars, cafes and a few shops. Possanco village is a newish country hamlet surrounded by the protected reserve and with wonderful views of the estuary.
Sol Troia is a privileged area with its pavements sprinkled with towering palm trees and pretty flowers. The village is situated at the centre of the Troia peninsula between Comporta and Troia. It is an idyllic location just off the coast of Setubal and only forty five minutes drive from Lisbon.
The exclusive Troia boasts a championship golf course, a trendy marina, spas and a casino. Visitors enjoy sea and river fishing, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, sailing and cycling. Troia lies at the top of the peninsula just off the coast of Setubal and is overlooked by the Serra da Arrbida Nature Reserve. Visitors can take the ferry over to Setubal which is a twenty five minute crossing with the car or ten minutes if you take the catamaran as a pedestrian. Otherwise, you can drive via Alcacer do Sal and Comporta village. Troia is a wonderful area of natural beauty and is home to much wildlife including flamingoes, storks and dolphins.
Grandola boasts a history going back to the Bronze Age and was an important outpost for the Roman Empire which included large scale fishing, salting and preservation complexes. The town is typical of the Alentejo with surrounding countryside of agricultural plains and fields of cork, eucalyptus and pine trees. Grandola offers an incredible shoreline which stretches from Troia to Melides. Activities include kayaking, surfing, hiking, windsurfing, scuba diving, hunting for boar, rabbit, hare, quail and wild pigeon and fishing. It offers fantastic gastronomy and quality wines. The handicraft industry in Grandola includes wrought iron, weaving, tapestry, wooden furniture, pottery, cork and leather goods.
The vibrant, cosmopolitan city of Lisbon is very popular for its much photographed, colourful trams, its foodie haven Time Out Market, its Oceanarium, its zoo, its pretty azulejos, its markets, its fabulous wine bars and restaurants, its historic monuments, its lovely waterfront and its fabulous squares. Close by, Belem is very popular for its specialist pastry shop, monastery and botanic gardens.  At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
