Villa Fradinhos Portugal
Holiday Home Rental Description
Located in an elevated position overlooking the stunning vineyards of the Minho region stands Villa Fradinhos, an enchanting holiday home accommodating up to twelve guests across six bedrooms. Featuring both a main house as well as a charming summer cottage, this beautiful stone villa offers everything you and your guests could possibly need to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing getaway.
Villa Fradinhos is the perfect holiday accommodation for larger families or friendship groups looking for classic luxury with a rustic touch. The interior is large and open plan, with high ceilings, chunky woods and exposed stone. The ground floor features a fully-fitted kitchen and dining area, well-equipped with a cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and coffee machine, as well as crockery and glassware. From this area, you’ll be able to access your private terrace – the ideal place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of bubbly as you take in your picturesque surroundings.
The living room has been designed and furnished with total comfort in mind. With its soft, comfy sofas and open fireplace, it offers guests the ideal place to relax, watch TV and reflect on their day. On the first floor, you’ll find three double bedrooms and two twins – all with either an en-suite bath or shower facilities. The rooms are light and airy, decorated in neutral shades that contrast beautifully with rich, dark woods and accents of red and gold present in the soft furnishings. The views are picturesque all around, whether you’re lucky enough to be looking out over the villa’s mature gardens or the vineyards and rolling hills beyond.
Guests staying at Villa Fradinhos will benefit from the use of an onsite summer cottage that can accommodate an additional two guests. The cottage features a beautiful open-plan dining area and kitchen with a built-in bbq – making it ideal for two or more families or groups holidaying together who also want to be able to maintain some privacy.
The exterior of Villa Fradinhos is equally enchanting. When you’re not marvelling at the gorgeous stone architecture of the building, built by the locals back in the nineteenth century, you’ll be drinking in the lush, green vineyards, the extensive lawns and spacious terraces. The grounds of the villa are perfect for alfresco dining; here, you’ll be able to enjoy barbecues late into the evening as you and your guests watch the sunset over the mountains.
The villa’s grounds offer so much more than just places to relax and watch the world go by! Guests here can enjoy their own private pool, as well as be able to make use of the tennis court (be sure to bring your own equipment!). There is also a small children’s play area in the garden, as well as ponds and pens of ducks and chickens set at the far end of the property’s grounds. Villa Fradinhos is situated in the heart of the Ponte De Lima countryside in the picturesque Minho region of Portugal. Ponte De Lima takes its name from the ancient bridge that spans the Lima river, an important crossing point since Roman times. Today, the charming town of Ponte De Lima is a peaceful and relaxing place to spend your time while you are in this part of the world, lined with elegant granite buildings, cafe-lined squares and riverfront views. The cobbled streets of the town showcase a number of historical monuments and buildings, including the Igreja de Santo Antônio, a whitewashed Baroque-style church with an impressive bell tower, and the gothic style Igreja Matriz, which features a distinctive rose window.
It is the riverside of this pretty town that captures the attention and imagination of tourists the most. There are many festivals held here throughout the year, and it is the bi-weekly open-air market, Feira Quinzenal, for which the area is most famous. Running since 1125, the stalls sell a range of goods, including fresh, local produce and quality textiles. If you’re lucky enough to be in the area in September, you’ll get to experience Feiras Novas, where in addition to the market stalls, you can enjoy fair rides, folk music, fireworks and huge carnival-style statues on floats known as ‘gigantones’.
The town is home to a number of themed gardens to explore, including those in Roman, Baroque and Renaissance styles. You’ll also find a museum of rural life, which is home to an interesting collection of antique farming equipment and gardening implements.
If you want to travel a little further afield, the town of Viana do Castelo is only a thirty-minute drive away. In an area steeped in medieval history, here you’ll find a wealth of heritage to visit during your stay, including monasteries and churches, monumental fountains and water features.
Other attractions such as Peneda Geres National Park and Guimaraes World Heritage Site are within easy distance of your villa, and activities such as golf, watersports, fishing, cycling, hiking and walking are all easily accessible in the area.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
