You’ll be bowled over with the charm and attention to detail when you stay in the newly built cottage style Villa Elmali. This one storey traditional stone built villa has four double ensuite bedrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up to nine guests, ideal for a large family or friend’s get together holiday.
Surrounded by a lovely garden with a well-manicured lush green lawn, and a smattering of mature fruiting lemon and pomegranate trees, the villa offers relaxation, seclusion, and privacy. Private on-road parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning is included throughout. The villa has been stylishly decorated with a sophisticated neutral palette of subdued contrasting colours against a stark white background, tastefully accessorised with unusual lighting and decorative artefacts. The living area has two comfy sofas, a large soft beige three-seater, and a cool white two-seater, arranged around wooden coffee and side tables, facing a high-definition flat screen television with built-in Digi Turk channels. For those of you who are of a more literary nature there is also a selection of good books and holiday reading materials. An enclosed fireplace will keep you cosy in the cooler months and evenings. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything you will need for a happy holiday, including should you so desire, chopsticks, a bread maker, and that obligatory morning coffee Nespresso machine.
All of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, no stairs is a great asset for those with mobility issues. The master bedroom is decorated in classic Mediterranean blues and white, has a large free-standing double bed, shelving units, and an open plan wardrobe to accommodate all of your holiday attire. The adjacent black and white ensuite bathroom is home to two stone basins, a contemporary tiled walk-in shower and WC. French doors open from the master bedroom onto the pool terrace, just right for a few lengths before breakfast. Two further spacious black, grey, and white bedrooms have double beds, side tables and wardrobes with ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers. The fourth bedroom is a simple wood and white double room, with two twin beds, side tables and a wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom.
There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, should you wish to do a wash during your stay. The terrace and gardens are home to a large rectangular ladder entry swimming pool, surrounded by four relaxing sun loungers and four laid back deck chairs. A pergola runs the length of the house, to give shade to a comfortable soft seating area, the perfect place for a relaxed morning coffee, reading the latest best seller, or sipping a sundowner whilst watching the sun set. Also housed in the shade of the pergola is an outside dining area, with a natural wood table and chairs to seat up to eight guests, and a Weber barbeque, ideal for some alfresco entertaining under the twinkling stars.Villa Elmali is located within fifteen minutes walking distance into the town of Dalyan, in the province of Mugla, on the Southwest Turkish Turquoise Coast. The villa is a short thirty minute, twenty-five kilometre, drive through the lush Turkish countryside from Dalaman International Airport. The town of Dalyan, which means Fishing Weir, is located betwixt and between the holiday hot spot of Marmaris, and the international town of Fethiye. Dalyan is a lively local town all year round, it is situated on the banks of the reedy River Cayi, with boats going about their business on a daily basis, sauntering past the fascinating Lycian rock tombs and the ancient town of Kaunos to the beautiful Iztuzu Beach, home to the protected loggerhead turtles. A leisurely stroll into town will take you to local shops, supermarkets, welcoming cafes, bars and family-friendly restaurants, many with stunning settings on the river. By night some of the cafes and bars transform into lively low key cool jazz and live music venues.
By day you will be spoilt for choice with things to do and places to see, there is something for everyone of all ages. Most popular and an absolute must-do, is to take a private boat or join a group trip on a leisurely day on the River Cayi. Marvel at the ancient rock tombs of the kings, explore the fourth century BC town of Kaunos, enjoy a traditional Turkish meze lunch aboard, before disembarking at Iztuzu beach. The eco-friendly Iztuzu beach is the home to Caretta Caretta, the protected loggerhead sea turtles, who make their nests here and have become synonymous with local conservation and Dalyan town. The beach is closed at certain times during the hatching season to allow the new born turtles to safely reach the water, it’s a fascinating trip and you’ll be certain of spotting a turtle or two. Nearby is the vast Lake Koycegiz, full of local river and sea fish, spread over five thousand two hundred hectares, it has a number safe sandy beaches and is suitable for swimming with a magnificent mountain view. If it’s lakes you love, take a walk around Sulungur, five kilometres north of Dalyan in the Gokbel Hills, an instagrammable destination for superb sunrise and sunset photos.
Further afield you can follow the Lycian Trail, discovering the flora and fauna of Turkey, with the Taurus mountains as a backdrop. Walk the dramatic coastal scenery footpaths, that will take you to ancient cities and sights. For holiday fun and frolics make your way to Marmaris, an hour and fifteen minute drive will take you to the original fishing village, bustling markets, souvenir shops, buzzing cafes, bars, and restaurants, and a very lively nightlife. In the other direction you will find the cosmopolitan town of Fethiye, with a panoramic harbour, luxury lifestyle shopping, a renowned fish market, where you can enjoy freshly caught local sea food, as well as some ancient tombs and amphitheatres.
