Casa Amelia is a sensational wonder, a seven-bedroom contemporary palace built very cleverly into the rock cliffs of Stikovica, a popular suburb of Dubrovnik. The villa is a high-tech, high-end, ultra-luxurious hideaway that enjoys spectacular 180-degree views of the gorgeous Elafiti Islands, the stunning archipelago of Dubrovnik. Just 9.4km from Dubrovnik’s city walls, guests can relax in this incredible villa, enjoy gorgeous beaches or head into the Old Town for delicious meals and a wander around the city walls.
This superior villa has been masterfully built over three floors and features seven master bedroom suites with luxurious ensuite bathrooms. Five of the bedrooms are located in the main house, plus there are two delightful studio apartments in the guest house with kingsize beds, bathrooms, kitchenettes and private lounges. In total, up to 14 guests can enjoy this astounding property and its superb amenities, including a stunning infinity swimming pool, a sauna and a fitness area.
Casa Amelia has been designed to make full use of the spectacular vistas of the Elafiti Islands and the turquoise sea. Walls of glass drown the spaces in natural light and boast sensational seascapes. The main living area enjoys a double-height aspect, sumptuous contemporary furnishings, the biggest television you have ever seen and sensational interior design. The space is so stylish and offers the wow factor! One side of the living area is a beautiful dining space with an enormous contemporary table and chairs. On the other side, you will discover a bar area and more beautiful views. Doors open to the terrace with its alfresco dining area and pool. The kitchen is incredible, very smart, all in black and dark tones, and offers the very best appliances. The most discerning of chefs will be thoroughly impressed though you may also feel like treating yourselves to a private chef during your stay. The kitchen is very sociable, with a breakfast bar where guests can enjoy their favourite tipples while keeping the chefs’ company. In addition to the main living spaces, Casa Amelia offers a children’s playroom, a sauna, hot tub and fitness area. This impressive villa also offers an elevator to take you to your bedrooms.
The bedrooms are all stunning and beautifully finished. Six of the seven rooms offer exquisite kingsize beds, all beautifully adorned with luxury linens and each enjoying floor to ceiling windows or doors offering superb panorama. The remaining room boasts sumptuous twin beds. Some ensuite bathrooms boast baths and showers, while others offer just showers. They are immaculate and brilliantly styled. You will want to linger. Several bathrooms enjoy jacuzzi baths, and several bedroom suites offer beautifully furnished balconies. The gorgeous guest house offers one studio with a kingsize bed, ensuite shower room, a lounge area, kitchenette and partial sea views. The other offers a comfy king size bed, ensuite shower room, a lounge and kitchenette. These rooms are ideal if you have couples in your group that might appreciate a little private time.
The terrace is fabulous, with deluxe loungers surrounding the beautiful infinity pool and a sensational alfresco dining area that makes you feel like you are sitting over the water. The fabulous Casa Amelia is built into the cliffs at Dubrovnik’s exclusive suburbs, Stikovica. Stikovica and its neighbour Zaton are snuggled on this gorgeous coastline north of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. They are beautiful and ideal spots for an idyllic holiday with breathtaking views over the shimmering blue waters and encased in greenery. A pretty promenade is brimming with buzzy bars and eateries and a shingle beach that is great for snorkelling. It is the epitome of tranquillity together with beautiful views. Zaton is located in the Bay of Zaton in the Zadar Channel. It is known for its typical Dalmatian architecture, unspoilt nature, rich cultural and historical heritage, and beautiful scenery. Remnants of life and culture in Zaton date from the beginning of the Bronze age. The town enjoys some fabulous buildings and remnants, including St Nicholas Church, built at the end of the 11th century. Venetians and Liburnian tombs and boats built the Kastelina tower at the end of the 16th century.
The amazing Arboretum Trsteno is roughly 10km from the villa and is worth visiting. It is the oldest renaissance garden in Dalmatia. It developed from a park surrounding the summer residence of the Gucetic-Gozze family and existed as far back as 1492. The gardens are stunning with Japanese banana trees, bougainvillaea, evergreen magnolia, many types of cactus and other exotic plants. It also includes many old stone sculptures and has been used to film Game of Thrones.
Dubrovnik Old Town’s picturesque shops, restaurants and historical sights are an absolute delight. There is a fantastic atmosphere if you can get a table for lunch or dinner in the charming, bustling marina and port. Dubrovnik is an up-market destination enjoying huge popularity and a fantastic gastronomic scene. There are three entrances to the walled city of Dubrovnik, including Pile, which is the main gate, Ploca by the port and Buze between the two. Buze Gate will take you in via steep staircases. Placa Stradun, the vast, flat main street running the length of the city, is sprinkled with open-air bars and cafes. The market in Gundulic Square sells classic candied orange peels and figs. Visitors can take a ferry to Lokrum Island between May and September, brimming with fragrant pine trees, lush grassy picnic areas and hundreds of birds chirping away. If you leave the Old Town through the Placa Gate, a lovely panoramic walk along Frana Supila Street is lovely. You will enjoy stunning views over Dubrovnik and the sea.
Mount Srd can be reached by cable car, car or hiking. Mount Srd boasts amazing views. You might want to hike back if you take the cable car up. You can take a delightful path in Bosanka leading back to the Old Town.
The Peljesac Penisula is a premier wine region of Croatia. Visitors can tour the local vineyards and sample the local wines, stopping at the charming villages of Ston and Trstenik. It is a beautiful excursion, particularly if you are not driving!
Guests also enjoy crossing the border into Bosnia and Herzegovina and taking in the stunning natural beauty of Mostar, with its iconic bridge spanning the meandering river below. Along the way, the religious pilgrimage site of Medjugore and the UNESCO-listed city of Pocitelj are excellent stops. Spending a day in charming Montenegro, exploring the natural beauty and historical cities of Petast and Kotor, is another incredible experience.
