Rent Villa Frostbite Emerald Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
After sailing the seas to Africa and America, Captain Caric and his Italian wife Donna Paola landed in Dubrovnik in 1929 to build a splendid home for themselves and the high society of the city. Decades later, a renowned Austrian-Croatian architect snapped up the villa to modernise the space for stylish family get-togethers. The contemporary Croatian artwork, design pieces by Mies Van der Rohe and Alvar Aalto, industrial details and dashes of Art Deco create a living work of art, with hints of the home’s past life in the original stone staircase and Donna Paola’s handwritten recipes. Bedrooms look out across the terracotta roofs and old stone walls to the glittering Adriatic and the mysterious island of Lokrum. Outside, a large stone terrace overlooks a slim pool and shaded wooden decking lined with sun loungers. After a rejuvenating shower in one of the emerald-tiled bathrooms, slip on a bathrobe and head down to the garden terrace to sit and soak up the early evening sun. Banje beach is a ten minute stroll away and the bars, restaurants and museums of the Old Town are even closer.
