Villa Doro Croatia
Holiday Home Rental Description
Walking up into the villa from the street, you enter the spacious patio with views of the valley opening out in front of you. With the sea in the distance, you’ll instantly feel at ease in the Croatian countryside. Out on the patio, the heated swimming pool has a no-Chlorine system, an infinity edge overlooking the valley, and the sea’s incredible view. Sun parasols and sun beds are scattered around the pool, ready for you to relax. A swinging egg chair is on hand under the canopy for you to relax with your favourite book.
Towards the back of the patio is a pergola with an alfresco dining table and a kitchen complete with an open woodfire oven. Here you will enjoy home-cooked food under a canopy of stars, exchanging stories of the day’s adventures. The villa also has access to a small garden where seasonal vegetables grow, available for you and your family to use in the kitchen—a game of table tennis for the family in house tournaments. The garage has a pool table for you to set up family tournaments, perfect for a relaxed morning spent at the villa.
Despite the traditional, rustic exterior style, the villa’s interior has a modern twist making this stay effortless. Inside on the ground floor is a modern kitchen diner. The breakfast bar and kitchen island separate the kitchen from the dining table. Stone walls make the space more homely and warm in the evening. The lounge is at the far end, with a large grey corner couch and room for the whole family to chill out on. A stylish coffee table sits in front of the flat-screen TV.
The bedrooms are light and spacious, with attention to every detail and king-size beds for maximum comfort. The first bedroom is on the ground floor, with the remaining three on the first floor. Upstairs, the master bedroom has its own ensuite. Two family bathrooms are available, one on the ground floor and the second on the first floor. The ground floor bathroom has a walk-in glass showers, with the first floor benefiting from an oval stone bath to soak in after a long day exploring under the sunshine. The first-floor balcony offers even more stunning countryside views and is ideal for enjoying your morning coffee.
Air conditioning flows throughout the villa, keeping you cool in the Croatian summers. Wi-Fi is also included, although, with so much to explore outside, you may not need it.Villa Doro is tucked away in the countryside of the island of Brac. North of the island, the villa’s local towns, Postira and Splitska, are along the northern coastline. From here, you can access the Adriatic Sea and water sports, including boat tours and kayaking trips. The island’s largest town, Supetar, is also along the north coast, offers ferry links to the beloved city Split, and has an abundance of cafes, restaurants and narrow streets to explore.
Along the coast, there are so many hidden coves and beaches. Brač is also home to one of the most spectacular beaches to the south of the island. Also known as the golden cape by many travel articles, Zlatni Rat beach is a natural beach with clear sea water surrounding the white sands on both sides of the peninsula.
Brač is also known for its preserved architecture and is the ideal place to explore, witness its deep history and enjoy the local cuisine. Stoned walls guide you along its rustic roads and streets, giving you a different perspective of the coastline. Mountain biking and hiking are popular, and the island is well-equipped to accommodate them. Home to the highest peak of all the islands in the Adriatic Sea, Vidova Gora. Once at the top, you will enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the coastline and the islands that inhabit the sea.
If you are up for an adventure further out to sea, sail around the island or take a kayaking tour- enjoying the calm of hidden coves and bays and view the island from a new perspective. Take swims in the cooling waves or snorkel to get a look at the colourful world under the surface. Go one step further and take lessons in scuba diving, exploring shipwrecks and the sea bed up close with a qualified instructor.
Less than an hour’s ferry ride is the famed city of Split. With bricked architecture dating back nearly two thousand years, you can immerse yourself in the rich history of this city. See how the people of Split reclaimed a Roman Emperors’ home when visiting Diocletian’s Palace. Surrounded by high columns, detailed entrances and imposing arches, you can immerse yourself in the past while exploring a host of shops, bars and cafes that now reside within its walls. The alleys create a maze into the past, with detailed bricked architecture withstanding all that has come after its erection; you can immerse yourself in the rich history of this city.
