Just a short distance from the sea and with stunning views across the bay at Šipanska Luka on the island of Šipan is spacious Villa Kelly. This comfortable holiday home offers flexible accommodation and a generous amount of attractive outside space to enjoy.
Bright, modern and full of conveniences to make your stay as relaxing as possible, this villa is comprised of three separate apartments. This makes Villa Kelly ideal for groups of friends or families. Occupying such an enviable position close to the beach and village means that amenities are within easy reach.
Apartment one features an open-plan living/dining room with kitchen. It’s a lovely, friendly space to get together and enjoy each other’s company. The lounge area features a comfortable sofa and a flat screen television.
Patio doors open straight onto a large terrace with outdoor seating for chatting over drinks, as well as a dining table for al fresco meals. The views from here over the bay are just beautiful. The dining table is right next to the lounge area, making it easy to move over to when meals are ready to be served.
Behind this is the fully-equipped, modern kitchen with every convenient amenity at your disposal. There are three bedrooms in total. One has a king size bed, the second has a double bed, and the third features a bunk bed. Completing the accommodation is a family bathroom.
Apartment two has a very similar layout, with apartment three being of a slightly smaller size overall. Here you’ll find an open-plan living/dining room with kitchen, creating the perfect place for cosy evenings in.
Patio doors lead out to the main terrace. There’s one bedroom in this apartment, and it’s a light, spacious double. The bathroom is well-equipped, with a large shower for comfort and ease of access.
The outside space is extensive, with the main feature being the large swimming pool that provides spectacular views over the bay and the surrounding tree-dotted hills. Also on the pool terrace are several sun loungers, along with a couple of seating areas for soaking up the views and laidback atmosphere.
At the top of the plot is a tranquil garden area with lawn, flowerbeds and a selection of pretty trees. There’s also a small terrace with outdoor dining furniture and a built-in barbecue.Being right at the heart of Šipanska Luka means that you don’t have to travel far from Villa Kelly to reach a range of amenities. Just a five-minute walk away are grocery shops, seafront restaurants and cafés. There’s also a small market for picking up some local produce.
The beach here is a sheltered gravel stretch, which is quiet and never crowded. There’s some sightseeing to do in the village too, with lots of medieval churches and 15th-century Gothic Rector’s Palace to visit.
Šipan Island only covers six square miles, so exploring the entire island is comfortable and convenient. The other central hub on the island is Suđurađ, which is less than a 10-minute drive away from the villa. It’s a slightly smaller village with a very similar, laidback atmosphere.
Nestling by the harbour is quaint houses and buildings, with the main feature of Suđurađ being its 16th-century castle with a tower built as a defence against pirates. The beach here is also gravel, with some nearby taverns serving the freshest fish and seafood.
You can also catch a ferry to the vibrant city of Dubrovnik for a fun and fascinating day out. This historical city boasts UNESCO World Heritage status and its Old Town area is truly stunning. It’s encircled by 16th-century stone walls and is packed with winding, cobbled streets lined with ancient buildings and sites of interest.
One of the most impressive buildings in the whole city is Gothic-Renaissance Rector’s Palace, which is now a history museum.
