This villa will make you never want to leave as you explore the beautiful Dubrovnik and the surrounding coastline.Villa Nera is located on the north coast of the southern city of Dubrovnik. Previously called Ragura in previous centuries, Dubrovnik is a southern city in Croatia, near the neighbouring islands of Lokrum and Mljet and the border of Montenegro.
Due to its Mediterranean climate, Dubrovnik is guaranteed to have an abundance of sunny days. A maze of terracotta rooftops and narrow streets, Dubrovnik is a tourist hotspot for witnessing the culture and history of this region. The architecture is glorious and filled with sculptures, archways and engravings. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site, the old town buildings were completed in the 13th century, giving a glimpse into what it looked like all those years ago. The old town was later encircled by a large stone wall which stands today but was completed in the 16th century. The wall runs right up to the shoreline and defines the city’s architectural skyline.
Overflowing with history and well preserved, Dubrovnik has been featured in many films including Robin Hood, Star Wars and Game of Thrones (a tour of which is available).
The Adriatic Sea is a cooling break from the Croatian sunshine. Take to the water to see the city from a new perspective with a sea kayaking tour. As you paddle between the waves the rocky shoreline will look even more dramatic. If you want a slower ride along the coast there are many boat tours from the city, all offering something unique so you find the right one for you and your family. Dance and swim in the shallows of the cooling waters or enjoy the rays from the shore of several beaches along the coast. Bring snorkels to see the colours and homes of the creatures who live below the surface. For the more adventurous ones, there are many water sports activities dotted along the coast including water skiing, parasailing, scuba diving and boat trips.
Take a day trip to historic Montenegro! The whole family will love exploring another country’s coastline, soaking up the rich history. The bay of Kotor is close to Dubrovnik and a sight not to be missed. Surrounded by mountains with terracotta rooftops dotted along the edge of the water.
