Situated in the port town Vodice, along the north coastline of Croatia, is the Villa Sky, sleeping eight people.
Set back from the town, Villa Sky is spread across two floors. A whitewashed contemporary new build with dark grey window frames, this villa is surrounded by Dalmatian stone wall, making your stay private and restful. A garden runs along one side, providing much-needed greenery to the light patio stone. Lavender plants are scattered around the garden and patio, at their best in the months of June and July. At the back of the property on the main patio is a sunken outdoor pool with sun loungers and parasols scattered around it. Stairs lead up to the villa with a dining table- ideal for breakfast watching the world wake up to the day- by large glass doors opening to the main family room.
You step straight into an open plan kitchen and living room with wide windows letting in an abundance of light. A stone feature walls run along one lounge wall, warming the room along with a cosy grey corner couch and a thick rug between the sofa and flat-screen TV. In the kitchen, wooden countertops frame the white cupboards above and below. A breakfast bar with orange high chairs links the kitchen to the dining table. Circular lighting hangs over a wooden dining table seating six guests on metal-framed chairs. Homey details have been added to make this stay a home away from home including paintings, quirky candle holders and plants. Wooden floors run underfoot and across to a marble-floored hallway which leads you to the ground floor double bedroom. Easily accessible across the whole floor, the homey features of the living room continue; a rug, framed pictures and textured furniture create a relaxed aesthetic. The ensuite has pattered tiles plus modern finishes and a walk-in shower.
Upstairs are three double bedrooms each plus ensuites. Long curtains hang from the windows looking out over the landscape surrounding the villa. Textured headboards and colourful artwork and soft rugs underfoot make it easy to settle in and enjoy the whole holiday. A balcony runs around two sides of the building overlooking the neighbouring houses and green landscape- ideal for drinking your morning coffee.For an even more effortless stay, from the balcony, you take the stairs up to the roof where a jacuzzi and sauna are ready for you to relax while the sun sets across the sea and the neighbouring town of Vodice. Being only a 15-minute walk from the centre of the village it it easy to pop down for lunch or dinner as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to discover. This stay will leave you wishing it lasted longer.
Nestled in the town Vodice halfway between Split and Zadar is the villa Sky. Once a fishing village, Vodice has architecture dating back to the 16th century. Take a seaside stroll along the coast, enjoy listening to the sea against the rocky shore and take a rest in the shade of the trees that are scattered along the coast. Vodice has a handful of cafes and restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine and enjoy the joys of not washing up. On a practical note, the local supermarket is only two hundred metres away from the villa, perfect for grabbing the last-minute dinner preparations.
There are two beaches in Vodice are Hangar beach and Male Vrijule beach. Both are pebbled beaches, great for families wanting to avoid the chaos of sand and a good example of how clear the water is in the Adriatic Sea.
The town is only twenty minutes from Sibenik. Known as the gateway to the Kornati Islands. With architecture dating back to the 14th century. In the 15th century, the Cathedral of St. James was constructed and is decorated with over seventy sculpted faces. The town has incredible views of the surrounding islands of Šibenik Bay.The neighbouring islands are great to explore and each has its own unique qualities. Zlarin is the sunniest of all the Croatian islands. If the statistics are to be believed, it is said that Zlarin gets 2700 hours of sunshine a year. also known as a golden gift, the island has beautiful corals beneath the clear waves, amazing to see when snorkelling. With secluded beaches and a rich cultural history, dating back to 1245. Get a 360 view of the island when you climb up to the highest point of the island; Klepac. Klepac is 169m tall and on a clear day, you can see the surrounding landscape for miles.
Prvic is a smaller, more secluded island, giving you a real taste of Croatia as it is considered a cultural heritage and under protection from the Croatian Ministry of Culture. St Helens Church is a rustic building with a bell tower attached and surrounded by terracotta rooftops.
