Four double bedrooms with en suite shower room, 32-inch HDTV, Bluetooth soundbar and a host of other features are joined by a fifth bedroom with bunk beds and a single bed. This room’s bathroom comes with a bathtub. A twelfth guest can be accommodated in the living room if required.
Within 3km of Villa Tana, you can enjoy secluded beaches, restaurants and a variety of outdoor activities, from hiking to horse riding. Across the wider region, Istria offers attractions, including areas of natural beauty like Ucka Nature Park and the Brijuni Islands, and the Istralandia water park. Croatian Istria’s stunning coastline and pretty villages are just two reasons this region remains a visitor favourite. Istria has everything from National Parks to glamorous coastal resorts, making it a place to live life outside.
Pula is known for its fantastic Roman sights. The most significant is the amphitheatre, known locally as the Arena, which is now the area’s biggest tourist attraction. It’s far from a relic, as this magnificent Arena hosts all sorts of entertainment, including big-name concerts and gladiatorial fights. A 3rd-century floor mosaic and Pula Cathedral are among other attractions for history enthusiasts in the city.
Pula also hosts a major film festival each summer, with some screenings in the amphitheatre and music festivals. A contemporary art museum showcasing the finest Istrian art of the last 100 years is also worth a visit.
A bit further up the coast, Rovinj is a real must see. Looking out on a 14-island archipelago, this gorgeous town has great views and offers an appealing mix of history, fine dining and culture. The Old Town’s most famous landmark, the Baroque church of St Euphemia, was modelled on that of St Mark’s Cathedral in Venice. You’ll be blown away from the views from its lofty bell tower.
Water sports and boat trips to the islands are popular activities too, along with excursions to the beautiful Punta Corrente Forest Park. You could also take a dive to see the wreck of Austrian steamer, the Baron Gautsch, which lies beneath the waters of Rovinj.
Elsewhere around Istria, you have everything from mountainous Učka Nature Park to water parks and cycling trails. Also look out for Poreč’s impressive Baredine Cave, Motovun’s International Film Festival and Svetvinčenat’s annual wine and cheese festivals.
