This ivy-covered chateau in the Loire Valley is nestled among a copse of trees, but it’s far from remote. Here, set within a 180 acre golf resort, you can host a truly sublime retreat. Guests of the chateau can take advantage of the hotel spa nearby for free, where 3 swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a sauna, and a fitness room are at your disposal. This 17th century chateau feels like a relaxed, traditional countryside home; you’ll love the worn wooden beams overhead and many windows. If you’d like to have an adventure, horseback riding can be found at Les Crins Blancs, 2 kms down the road. The nearest major town is La Châtre, 10 km north. Here we recommend the Parc des Parelles for hiking, or simply exploring the dear boutiques and restaurants in town. The Chateau is situated in the first line of a stunning golf course. A few hundred metres from the Chateau, the Hotel features a Spa, a bar and several restaurants.
As residents of the Chateau, you will have free access to the Spa. The Spa features an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor swimming pool, a pool with salted water, jacuzzi, a sauna and a fitness room. You will also benefit from special rates to play on the 18-hole golf course. Tennis courts can also be used free of charge and mountain bikes can be rented in the resort.
The Chateau is based in Pouligny Notre Dame, a small town where you will find a small supermarket and a hairdresser.
Near Chateau Drades, there are the following sports and cultural activities:- The equestrian centre Les Crins Blancs (2 kms from the chateau)- Maison Jour de Fête, dedicated to the famous French director Jacques Tati (6 kms from the château).- The house of the famous female writer George Sand (12 kms from the château).
There are many more activities in the region. The reception desk will inform you about them and will give you a list of activities.- Breakfasts can be ordered (€12/person) a few days before your stay in Chateau Drades and can be served in the Chateau.- In the resort, there are two restaurants: a gourmet restaurant and a bistro-style restaurant.- Golf buggies can also be rented if you wish to go from the chateau to the hotel without using your car.- A cleaning service can also be ordered.
