Mas Des Reflets France
Holiday Home Rental Description
From the talented owners of two other luxurious villas in our Provence portfolio, Mas des Reflets will amaze you with its stunning interiors, discreet services and breathtakingly beautiful setting overlooking the landscapes of Les Alpilles, close to a charming village and one of the region’s most iconic Provençal restaurants.
Soak up the scents and sights of Provence as you step into this sophisticated 4-bedroom abode, the perfect fusion of old and new, with picture-book arched windows framing the vistas of Les Alpilles. The owners possess such a keen eye for detail and design, having used only the finest natural materials alongside designer furnishings and antique pieces from the markets of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. The art collection throughout Mas des Reflet is especially impressive.
Across the top floor’s lounge and kitchen-diner, appreciate the juxtaposition of elegant interiors and top-end appliances alongside original features such as wood beams and exposed stone walls. Doors open out to two spacious terraces for al-fresco feasts or drinks by the firepit as you gaze at the magnificent Provençal landscapes around you. Four sumptuous en suite bedrooms await downstairs, each one with doors leading to the infinity swimming pool whilst an intimate cellar showcases regional wines and liquors.
A continental breakfast is served each morning, daily housekeeping is included, and a concierge service is on hand to help pre-arrange private chefs, cultural excursions, golf days and more, not forgetting treatments in the villa’s dedicated sauna and massage room. You can organise a fitness instructor to work with you in the gardens amongst the ancient olive trees, lavender and rosemary or hire a coach to teach you how to play pétanque in the most beautiful surroundings.
Just a short drive away, you will soon reach a pretty little village with a boulangerie, café, grocery store and a much-loved bistro, once featured in Rick Stein’s culinary tour of France. Then there is the delightful village of Maussane-les-Alpilles, also known for its gastronomy and olive oil, and the idyllic hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence. This part of Provence is wonderful for walking, horse-riding, cycling, rock-climbing and more.
Further afield, visit the atmospheric Wednesday morning market in Saint-Rémy, sample wines in the Luberon vineyards, follow Van Gogh’s footsteps in Arles and admire the mesmerising landscapes of the Camargue before returning to the captivating scenery of this exquisite holiday villa in Provence. Mas des Reflets is set in Provence’s Alpilles Natural Regional Park, in a perched position looking out to the incredible valley below, just over 1km from a pretty village and highly regarded French bistro. It’s less than a 10-minute drive to reach Les Baux-de-Provence, classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’.
Drive down to the charming local village (1.3km) for the bakery, small grocery store, butchers and café as well as tennis courts. Just on the edge of the village is one of Rick Stein’s favourite places, a legendary restaurant famous for its daily set menu.
Maussane-les-Alpilles (3km) is also easily reached with its fine reputation for olive oil, gastronomic restaurants and the village’s Thursday morning market. A little further north, visit the very beautiful village of Les Baux-de-Provence (4km) and its historic château, then follow one of the many walking trails surrounding the valley below, passing olive groves, woodland and other gorgeous landscapes of Les Alpilles. Stop off in farms to sample local cheeses, honey and olive oil.
Head to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (13km) on a Wednesday morning if you wish to experience its atmospheric market which attracts visitors from across the region. Follow the footsteps of Van Gogh or visit galleries and artisan studios in this enchanting town which has inspired artists for many years.
Eygalières (20km) is another picture-perfect village of Les Alpilles or you could head around an hour east towards the captivating scenery of the Luberon region with its vineyards, lavender fields, orchards and idyllic hilltop villages such as Bonnieux, Roussillon and Gordes.
Arles (18km), well-known for its Van Gogh associations as well as its fascinating Roman history, is a perfect day out. It’s also the gateway to the mesmerising Camargue, leading all the way to the Mediterranean, where you can spot rare birds, wild horses, bulls and flamingos.
Other great places to visit within this part of Provence include the historic city of Avignon (40km), Cézanne’s beloved Aix-en-Provence (65km), the Roman ruins of Nîmes (44km) and, even closer to home, the old riverside town of Tarascon (16km) on the banks of the Rhône.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
