Luxury Villas
| 6 Bedrooms|

Rental Description

You’ll be rhapsodic when you holiday in the beautiful bohemian Villa Miles, located in the green mountain side of the Pelion peninsula, with stunning sea views of the Pagasitkos Gulf on the northern Greek Mediterranean Sea. This unique six double bedroom, four bathroom villa can comfortably accommodate up to fifteen guests, and is ideal for a large family, or friend’s get together  holiday. This two storey traditional stone built villa is set in ancient olive groves, and surrounded by back to nature lush vegetation. The villa comes with its own private parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi and air conditioning throughout. The stone paved terrace is home to your very own private swimming pool with panoramic cobalt blue sea views. The interiors of Villa Miles combines the best of both worlds, with lots of traditional local craftsman handmade furnishings, combined with modern appliances and bright décor, to give it a real holiday home from home vibe.
Enter the villa at ground floor level where you will find a light and airy open plan living space, with a terracotta tiled floor, scattered with classic kilim rugs, wood beamed ceilings, and a magnificent free standing wood burning fire for those cooler months and evenings. The seating area has two plush brown leather three seater sofas, a wooden coffee table, and a flat screen television. Whilst the adjacent  indoor dining set has two seriously impressive long dark wood tables and matching chairs. The white and wood kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern appliances you will need to cater for your holidays, including a built-in oven and hob, fridge freezer, and that must-have morning coffee maker. There are six beautifully appointed double bedrooms located over two floors. The bedrooms are romantic and spacious, some with handmade wooden beds, billowing white curtains, mosquito nets, heavy wood doors, televisions, and access to terraces with panoramic views. Five of the bedrooms have double beds, and one has two singles, some of the double bedrooms have extra single beds too. Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and there are a further two shared family bathrooms.
We suspect you will be spending most of your days and evenings on the stunning sea view stone tiled terrace and wandering through the gorgeous gardens and olive groves. The centrepiece of the terrace is a nine metre by five metre, roman step entry, private swimming pool, long enough for a few lengths before breakfast, and just as delightful for a cooling afternoon dip. The pool is surrounded by comfy cream cushioned sun loungers and matching shady parasols. After an invigorating swim, let it all hang out in one of the four suspended hammocks, that overlook the bay. Catch up with this year’s bestseller in one of the director’s chair dotted about the place. Meet at the inviting soft seating area, that is tailor made for morning coffee, or sun downers at sun set. Whilst the outside rustic wooden table and wicker chair dining set is perfectly positioned to see out to sea, as you dine alfresco under a twinkling Grecian sky.
Villa Miles is nestled snug into the hillside of an ancient olive grove, overlooking the gulf Pagasitkos, near the village of Pelion, in Thessaloniki, on the mainland of northern Greece, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The nine thousand square metre plot enjoys panoramic sea views from every aspect, with Mount Pelion looking out to the Gulf of Magnesia and the Euboia Sea, the setting of Jason and the Argonauts. Nea Anchialos National Airport in Volos is the nearest airport, a thirty four kilometre, one hour drive from the villa. Located in a secluded spot in the middle of the mountain, the area is ideal for hiking trails along the ready made stone paths, through the forests, and green slopes, past natural springs, down to beautiful beaches. There are lots of inviting beaches in the area, most especially on the eastern side of the coastline. Reputedly the best beaches are Mylopotamus, Agios Ioannis, Herefto, and Fakistra, all with crystal clear cobalt blue waters, some secluded, some with organised sun loungers, shady parasols, and beach bars.
Pelion isn’t big on mass tourism and organised tours, and it is highly recommended that you hire a car to visit all the fabulous sights you’d like to see. We especially recommend a tour of the many quaint villages that populate the area, especially Makrinitsa, Portaria, Milies, and Tsagarada, with lush green forest backdrops, and traditional three story architecture with grey stone roofs, and paved alleyways. For those who like to keep fit and active the area offers opportunities to mountain bike and cycle, snorkel and scuba dive, yachting and sailing, fishing and horseback riding, or wind down at the end of the day with a yoga class sun salutation. Slow the pace with a tour of the many vineyards, and sample the local wines, shop for handcrafted souvenirs, take home the hand pressed olive oils and hive honey, and enjoy the traditional delicacy of a bowl of spentzofai, a pork stew made from charcuterie, best enjoyed with a glass of ouzo or two. Seek solace in one of the many Greek Orthodox churches, often ornate with Byzantine art and icons, nearby is the church of St George, and the Virgin of Ano Volos, in Milies there is the seventeenth century church of Taxiarches, and well worth a visit is the fourteenth century monastery of Agios Lavrentios.
A visit to the coastal city of Volos is a must-see, located at the foot of the Pelion peninsula, and just under forty kilometres from the villa. Volos is a nineteenth century city, renowned for its seafront fish restaurants, and the capital of the local drink of Tsipouro, enjoy a fish and ouzo supper in a traditional taverna by the seashore. Whilst you are in Volos, take time to admire the elegant architecture, walk the Argonauts Way, sip coffee in the shady Rigas Feraios Square, amble around Agios Konstantionos Park, stroll along the seafront, soak up the history of the city in the old quarter of Palia, dating back to three thousand years BC, visit a museum, and take in a theatre show. Whilst you are there don’t miss a visit to the Panagia Trypa, a Greek Orthodox church, built inside a cave, by the sea shore. The area of Pelion is particularly noteworthy as both a summer and winter destination, with picture postcard villages with snow frosted scenery, and a ski centre in nearby Chania, if you fancy a downhill thrill.
