The fabulous Villa Cynthia sits on a privileged hillside plot in Kommeno, overlooking the gorgeous Kommeno Bay, Corfu Town and the bustling Gouvia marina. Sitting in an oasis of tranquility, this spacious villa sleeps up to ten guests in five bedrooms. It is ideal for large families, groups of friends or multi-generational families.
The villa is smart and tidy with a jolly terracotta exterior. It is particularly special at night when its remnants of a medieval fortress are lit up, taking you back in time and creating a magical atmosphere. The villa enjoys open plan living, a superb modern kitchen and a wonderful blend of modern and vintage furnishings. As well as the medieval fortress walls outside, the villa boasts a gorgeous infinity pool, shaded alfresco dining, attractive gardens and the most spectacular of sea views.
Kommeno sits approximately ten kilometres north of the capital Corfu Town on the exclusive Kommeno peninsula, a renowned favoured retreat for jetsetters and royalty with its Venetian and English colonial influences and gorgeous natural setting. When exploring the peninsula, you will discover beautiful gardens along the water’s edge, the traditional chapel of Ypapanti which is connected to Kommeno with a very narrow strip of land, pastel painted villas in the colours of flaming Ionian sunsets, royal pavilions and imperial palazzos, all snugly embraced by scented pine groves. The villa sits within walking distance of the village and the beach but is surrounded by glorious greenery.
Villa Cynthia is built over three floors with bedrooms on the upper and lower floors. With an incredibly shiny wooden floor, the ground floor is home to the incredibly spacious living area. Guests enjoy a feature fireplace, vintage wooden furniture and a modern, comfy corner sofa arrangement in the living area. Guests also enjoy use of a huge 60 inch television with Netflix and satellite channels. The views from the living area are astonishing. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors and picture windows drown the area in natural light with the doors also giving access to the terrace and the shaded alfresco dining area. The living space is also home to a sophisticated dining table and chairs where guests can dine under a chandelier whilst mesmerised by the panorama. There is also a small, cute, vintage table and chairs sitting by a large picture window, a perfect spot for a cup of tea. The kitchen is sleek and stylish with excellent appliances that are sure to please the chefs in your group.
Three of the bedrooms are located on the first floor, all with comfy beds and generous wardrobes. The master offers a kingsize bed with a luxury coco-mat mattress, a television and access to an extensive terrace which offers spectacular sea views. Guests share a shower room on this level with the remaining two bathrooms on the lower level. The remaining bedrooms enjoy double beds and access to a balcony or terrace. The remaining bedrooms are located in the basement, both with double beds. Along with two bathrooms, one with a bath and another with a shower, there are laundry facilities in the basement and a very well-equipped gym for those that want to keep up their fitness regimes. The equipment includes a pilates reformer bench, a spinning bike, a treadmill, adjustable dumbbells and fit-balls.
The gardens, terrace and pool are very special at Villa Cynthia. You can swim in the infinity pool admiring the stunning seascapes in front of you or relax on loungers beside the pool. You can wander through the gardens to the fortress remnants or dine alfresco enjoying the spectacular sunsets and water activity.Corfu is one of the most beautiful, lush green islands in Greece. It enjoys countless beaches, stunning scenery stretching from the crystal clear dazzling sea to the mountains, a fantastic dining scene, historic monuments and fantastic shopping making it a dream destination. Villa Cynthia enjoys a very privileged, elevated location on the stunning Kommeno peninsula with glorious views over the bay. The villa is within walking distance of the village with its shops, bars and restaurants. The secluded Kommeno Bay is halfway up of Corfu’s eastern Ionian coast, just 20 minutes from the bustling, cosmopolitan Corfu Town. The quiet private roads on the peninsula give you a feeling of remoteness and calm. The vibrant beach bars of Dassia and Gouvia’s 18th century Venetian architecture are also within easy reach of the villa. The Kommeno peninsula boasts some of the most coveted shoreline in Corfu.
Gouvia is a charming resort, a former fishing village which is now a modern holiday resort with plenty of amenities for all ages. It boasts a pretty pebble beach and a stunning, vibrant marina. It boasts many atmospheric restaurants, bars and cafes along the main street. Its 18th century shipyard is still remarkably intact and a popular attraction. The views from Gouvia are really stunning with the glistening Ionian Sea and Corfu Town on the horizon.
The captivating Corfu Town, the birthplace of the late Duke of Edinburgh, is one of the most beautiful, graceful and elegant towns in Greece. Corfu Town sits between two great Venetian coastal fortresses and within lies a very modern capital brimming with elegant mansions, magnificent palaces, beautiful squares and no fewer than thirty nine churches including the beautiful Church of Saint Spiridon. The town’s stunning architecture enjoys Sicilian, Venetian, French and English influence. The entire Old Town is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a tightly-packed warren of cobbled winding lanes bursting with lively bars, boutiques and fine restaurants. You will also see timeless alleys with the day’s washing stretching out from balcony to balcony and colourful bougainvillea draped everywhere. There are some interesting museums including the Byzantine Museum of Corfu which is housed in a 15th century church. The Duke of Edinburgh was born at the fabulous Mon Repos Palace. Next to the palace gardens you will find the calm waters of the Mon Repos Beach. To the north, you will find the popular Faliraki Beach.
The picturesque resort of Kassiopi is located in the lively north eastern corner of Corfu. With the dramatic Mount Pantokrator standing proud over the resort and with a stunning harbour, this once quiet fishing village is very popular and very pretty. It enjoys charming narrow streets overlooked by the ruins of an ancient Byzantine castle and breathtaking views out to sea towards the Albanian coast.
