This monumental villa was only built in recent years by a couple from Athens, who had long fantasised about a place where they could escape for an island getaway. They were so pleased with the end result that they’re now giving other people the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful property.
It’s easy to see why they were so smitten. Skillfully constructed into a hillside on the northeastern coastline of Corfu, the outdoor area enjoys sensational views of the sparkling Ionian Sea and the beach down below. This panorama is best enjoyed from the pair of infinity pools, but is no less awe-inspiring from the terrace or even when gawped at through the large glass doors found in most ground floor rooms.
Although the outdoor space provides stiff competition, the interior is pretty remarkable in itself. There’s plenty of space, thanks to the fact that the communal spaces have been doubled up — two kitchens, living rooms and dining areas offer a bit of flexibility. All throughout, the furnishings and styling are contemporary, although there are nods to the region’s architecture in the form of exposed stone walls. An eclectic art collection adds some personality, too.
There’s plenty to see in this corner of the island, too. Nissaki Beach can be reached in twenty minutes on foot (or a ten-minute drive) and there are a handful of surrounding restaurants and taverns.
