Mykonos has a bit of a reputation as a destination of choice for party-lovers, but this villa on the southernmost tip of the island is as peaceful as you could wish for. A lot of this is down to the soothing scenery – how do you like the idea of waking up to views of the Aegean Sea and the neighbouring island of Naxos every morning?
We thought so. There are plenty of spots from which to take in this vibrant vista, whether you’re seated out under one of the verandahs or paddling through the home’s very own swimming pool. As if you needed any more incentive to spend time outside, there’s also a barbecue on which you can grill up some hearty Mediterranean flavours.
The home’s interior is pretty impressive, too. Stark white walls, floors and ceilings make for a space that’s instantly bright and fresh, especially with the ample amount of natural light that floods in through the large windows. The chic furnishings and inbuilt archway lighting add a little contemporary flair, too.
As you can probably guess from the scenery, it doesn’t take too long to reach the seaside – the nearest beach is all of a minute’s walk, in fact. There are restaurants and bars in the town of Ornos is only seven minutes’ drive north, while the bright lights of Mykonos take double that amount of time to reach.
