Found next to Brooke Square in Skyros Town, this villa was built way back in 1892 and it still overflows with charm more than a century on. Much of this is down to the stunning view of the Aegean Sea that comes with the elevated position, which can be enjoyed in the garden, balcony or even out through the large windows that also bathe the space in natural light.
Some typically Skyrian architectural features have been retained — including a large patch of exposed rock in the dining room — but it’s fair to say that the interior has been modernised over the years. This means that you’ll find whitewashed walls, sleek bathrooms and a rather smart kitchen complete with an island.
Just two minutes’ walk from the home, you’ll find a pair of Museums, one devoted to archaeology and the other to ethnology and folklore. Skyros’s whitewashed streets are pleasant to wander about aimlessly, but Magazia Beach is only a ten-minute walk for when you want a dip in the sea.
