Welcome to Zakynthos. In picturesque private gardens, blooming with orange, lemon and ancient olive trees, this sublime villa has a relaxing, calm vibe. Elegant and refined, everything about this place exudes good taste, with modern neutral decor and a rustic feel thanks to lots of natural woods and fabrics. Arranged over two floors, its statement staircase sweeps up from the double-height living room, with a dining area and a smart kitchen beneath that wouldn’t look out of place in an English country cottage. Bedrooms are cool and comfortable, with a superb master suite on the first floor that we immediately fell in love with. An ode to whitewashed wood, its vaulted ceiling and skylights have plenty of wow factor – as does its pretty en-suite bathroom. But this is Greece and you’ll be spending much of your time outside. The garden here is a dream come true, with countryside views, a beautiful private pool and nothing to disturb your peaceful break from reality. Cook outdoors at the built-in barbecue and enjoy long, lazy meals into the evening under the pergola. The nearest beach is just a two-minute drive away, and there are shops, restaurants and more within easy reach by car.
