The delightful Villa Alyna enjoys a splendid location in the peaceful village of Nikiana, on the north east coast of Lefkas. The village enjoys a sandy beach and some pebbly ones, a tiny attractive port and a wonderful array of traditional tavernas, cafes and restaurants. It is located ten kilometres south of Lefkas Town and close to Nidri, not far from Lygia. Visitors to Nikiana enjoy a warm welcome and a lovely peaceful ambience. Villa Alyna enjoys a wonderful position in the village with glorious, uninterrupted views of the Ionian Sea. It is also within easy reach of the spectacular Nidri Waterfalls. Though Lefkas’ beaches are superb and gorgeous, you should not forget the island’s stunning interior which is incredibly green and sprinkled with fabulous mountain villages and hiking and cycling trails.
Villa Alyna enjoys fabulous outside space, wonderful modern living space and three bedroom suites, two of which are in the main villa and another in a separate, adjacent guest house. The living space is just fabulous with floor-to-ceiling doors all around offering gorgeous views and drowning the space in natural light. Comfy sofas sit at the far end of the room enjoying the spectacular views of the sea, the garden and the pool as well as being brilliantly positioned for the wall-mounted television. The circular dining table and beautiful upholstered chairs are very stylish and also enjoy the wondrous views. The kitchen is modern and spacious, offering all of the appliances you could wish for your self-catering stay.
Upstairs, you will find two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms. The master offers a sumptuous double bed, gorgeous views and a beautiful ensuite bathroom. Throughout this villa, there are modern artworks on the walls. The second bedroom offers a kingsize bed, a beautifully tiled shower room and those views. The remaining bedroom is located in the guest house, a twin room with the beds next to each other and with its own ensuite shower room. It is a beautifully decorated peaceful haven and enjoys direct access to the garden and pool.
The villa and guest house sit in one acre of garden. It is very secluded and very special with a barbecue area, outdoor furniture, a shady terrace, a fabulous pool and trendy bean bag beds. It is a lovely peaceful spot where you can enjoy your holiday books, beautiful sunrises and each other’s company.
Guests staying at Villa Alyna enjoy a welcome basket full of local Lefkas goodies, bathroom toiletries and a mid-week clean and change of bedlinen, towels and pool towels.Nikiana is a delightful, unspoilt tourist resort with stunning scenery, sand and pebble beaches and a pretty harbour. Guests enjoy delicious cuisine in the local tavernas. It is brilliantly situated between Lefkas Town and Nidri.
The nearby resort of Lygia offers a small pebble beach and a busy fishing port which is surrounded by gorgeous fish tavernas, cafes and restaurants. Lygia was formally known for its salt production. Opposite the islet of the salt pans Alexandros, there is a medieval fortress.
Nidri, the largest of the tourist towns just to the south of the villa offers amazing amenities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views across the islets of Heloni, Sparti, Madouri and Scorpios, gastronomic delights, incredible scenery including famous waterfalls and the Dimosari Gorge and a fantastic dining scene. Nidri and Sivota are favourites with yacht charter firms. Island hopping is very popular, very easy and very enjoyable. Excursion boats take visitors to the local islets and the secluded coastal bays of Lefkas. Ferries go to Ithaca and Kefalonia. The gorgeous Geni peninsula is a ten minute drive from the villa. Geni village is a friendly, traditional fishing village where you will be made to feel very welcome in its charming waterfront tavernas.
Lefkas Town is buzzy, picturesque and brilliant for evening strolls, shopping and dining. The town is brimming with charming, narrow alleys, small vibrant squares, elaborate belfries and paved pedestrian areas. If you happen to see the procession of the Philharmonic of Lefkas along the main street, you should know that you are enjoying the oldest cultural society of the island the and second oldest philharmonic of Greece. The town is surrounded by a canal and a lagoon. Further north is Gyra, a thin stretch of sandy beach that forms a circle and is sprinkled with pretty windmills.
Lefkas is a beautiful, lush green island blessed with captivating Blue Flag beaches, picturesque Greek villages, archaeological sights and gorgeous unspoilt countryside sprinkled with olive groves, lush pine and cypress forests, beautiful waterfalls, dramatic gorges and one thousand metre mountain peaks. Lefkas is connected to the mainland by a long causeway and floating bridge. It is an easy drive from Preveza airport. Among the island’s most beautiful beaches are Egremni, Kathisma and the mesmerising Porto Katsiki which is loved for its golden sands and fascinating landscape. The unique beauty of Egremni’s 2.5 km beach has made it one of the most photographed landscapes on the island. Its name comes from the impressive cliffs that surround the beach. Kathisma Beach faces the Ionian archipelago, offering fine dazzling white sand, sparkling turquoise waters and a good selection of beach bars and sun loungers. The best beaches for windsurfing and kitesurfing are Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki. Nidri also boasts a very organised beach with an excellent watersports centre. When staying on the island, visitors enjoy delicious Greek cuisine, plenty of fresh fish, gorgeous local wines and moreish ouzo.
The mountain village of Karya, is lovely with its central square full of taverna tables under the shade of a huge plant tree. Visitors enjoy the local Karysaniki embroidery, once a vital part of the national dress. North-east of Karya and surrounded by towering cypress trees, mountain scenery and craggy cliffs is Lazarata. There are two notable churches, Agios Dionissis and Agios Spiridonas. Lazarata is a great place for a stroll to enjoy the neat vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations and the red-roofed houses. You can take an organised mountain bike tour of the island, a great way to see the island from a different perspective. Some cycling tours also include the stunning neighbouring island of Meganisi.
The pretty, whitewashed church of Agios Ioannis Antzoussis dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest churches in Lefkas. There are some fascinating archeological, historical and cultural sites to visit on this very special island. Wine lovers enjoy Lefkas Earth, the home of some fine local wines. You can combine this stop with a fresh seafood lunch overlooking the brilliant blue waters at Sivota or Vasiliki.At
