Villa Nydri is one of twelve luxury villas built on a very special plot in a lush olive grove with sensational views of Nidri and its surrounding green hills. Guests staying in the villa enjoy privacy, tranquility and brilliant, natural surroundings in the Palaiokatouna area of Lefkas. Nearby, you can enjoy the delights of Nidri, stunning waterfalls and the island’s spectacular interior.
Lefkas is a beautiful, lush green island blessed with endless captivating beaches, picturesque Greek villages and gorgeous unspoilt countryside sprinkled with olive groves, lush pine and cypress forests, beautiful waterfalls, dramatic gorges and one thousand metre mountain peaks. It offers delicious cuisine, a wonderful range of entertainment, yummy local wines, friendly locals and beautiful weather. You can’t go wrong!
Villa Nydri can accommodate six guests in luxurious comfort. The views of the idyllic Prigiponisia Islands from the villa are magical. The villa enjoys contemporary architecture, dazzling white render and beautiful interior design. The villas are very stylish and wonderfully spacious. The open plan living space on the ground floor is cosy and exquisite with a fabulous floating staircase taking you upstairs. The walls throughout the villa are bright white with the odd colour pop coming from fittings and accessories. The kitchen is smart, sleek and glossy with excellent appliances. Guests can relax in style watching the wall-mounted Smart television though the terrace and garden is likely to be the place you spend most of your time. Floor-to-ceiling doors open to the shaded terrace for alfresco dining. One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor, a beautiful double room with direct access to the terrace, garden and pool. Exquisite linens and soft furnishings adorn the sumptuous bed offering you a very good night’s sleep. The bedroom enjoys a fabulous, beautifully tiled ensuite shower room.
The remaining two bedooms are upstairs, again heavenly nests with sumptuous kingsize beds, luxury bedlinen, ensuite shower rooms with top-of-the-range fittings and access to a large wraparound balcony. Here guests can enjoy the superb panorama.
The villa enjoys a brilliantly designed outdoor space, very private and with stunning views in front of them. The swimming pool is 26 sqm and is surrounded by loungers and parasols. There is a delightful contemporary canopy to one side where you can relax with a glass of your favourite tipple, enjoying some shade. The terrace is surrounded by lush lawns and a backdrop of towering trees and green hills. It is such a brilliant spot.

They overlook the cosmopolitan tourist town of Nidri and the Prigiponisia Islands so brilliantly combine the tranquility of the hills with the vibrant entertainment of Lefkas’ busiest town. Nidri offers amazing amenities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views across the islets of Heloni, Sparti, Madouri and Scorpios, gastronomic delights, incredible scenery including famous waterfalls and the Dimosari Gorge and a fantastic dining scene. Nidri and Sivota are favourites with yacht charter firms. Island hopping is very popular, very easy and very enjoyable. Excursion boats take visitors to the local islets and the secluded coastal bays of Lefkas. Ferries go to Ithaca and Kefalonia.
Not far away, Lygia offers a small pebble beach and a busy fishing port which is surrounded by gorgeous fish tavernas, cafes and restaurants. Lygia was formally known for its salt production. Opposite the islet of the salt pans Alexandros, there is a medieval fortress. It is a great place to go for lunch.
To the north, Lefkas Town is the buzzy, picturesque capital where you can enjoy evening strolls, shopping and dining. The town is brimming with charming, narrow alleys, small vibrant squares, elaborate belfries and paved pedestrian areas. It is surrounded by a canal and a lagoon. Further north is Gyra, a thin stretch of sandy beach that forms a circle and is sprinkled with pretty windmills.
The gorgeous Geni peninsula is an easy drive from the villa. Geni village is a friendly, traditional fishing village where you will be made to feel very welcome in its charming waterfront tavernas.
You should spend some time exploring the mountainous areas and villages. The mountain village of Karya, is lovely with its central square full of taverna tables under the shade of a huge plant tree. Visitors enjoy the local Karysaniki embroidery, once a vital part of the national dress. North-east of Karya and surrounded by towering cypress trees, mountain scenery and craggy cliffs is Lazarata. There are two notable churches, Agios Dionissis and Agios Spiridonas. Lazarata is a great place for a stroll to enjoy the neat vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations and the red-roofed houses. You can take an organised mountain bike tour of the island, a great way to see the island from a different perspective. Some cycling tours also include the stunning neighbouring island of Meganisi.
Among the island’s most beautiful beaches are Egremni, Kathisma and the mesmerising Porto Katsiki which is loved for its golden sands and fascinating landscape. The unique beauty of Egremni’s 2.5 km beach has made it one of the most photographed landscapes on the island. Its name comes from the impressive cliffs that surround the beach. Kathisma Beach faces the Ionian archipelago, offering fine dazzling white sand, sparkling turquoise waters and a good selection of beach bars and sun loungers. The best beaches for windsurfing and kitesurfing are Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki. Nidri also boasts a very organised beach with an excellent watersports centre. Watersports offered on the organised beaches include scuba diving, water skiing, jet skiing, banana, fly-fish, big mable, tube and crazy sofa inflatables and many more. When staying on the island, visitors enjoy delicious Greek cuisine, plenty of fresh fish, gorgeous local wines and moreish ouzo.
The pretty, whitewashed church of Agios Ioannis Antzoussis dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest churches in Lefkas. There are some fascinating archeological, historical and cultural sites to visit on this very special island. Wine lovers enjoy Lefkas Earth, the home of some fine local wines. You can combine this stop with a fresh seafood lunch overlooking the brilliant blue waters at Sivota or Vasiliki.
