Villa Sparta is an architectural gem nestled on the hillside in the upmarket Perigiali area of Nidri. Perigiali is a stunning, lush green area of Lefkas at the foot of the east mountains. The village is delightful with a tiny port and some wonderful beaches. It is just north of the immensely popular tourist resort of Nidri. Nidri boasts amazing amenities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views across the islets of Heloni, Sparti, Madouri and Scorpios, a fantastic dining scene and incredible scenery including famous waterfalls and the dramatic Dimosari Gorge.
The glass architecture of Villa Sparta ensures that guests enjoy breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea and the Princess Islands from almost every angle of the villa. Surrounded by olive trees and wildflowers, the villa’s hillside position is truly remarkable. The villa is totally harmonious with the surrounding nature. Guests enjoy total privacy and seclusion. Here you will make everlasting holiday memories. The villa is newly built to an exceptionally high standard so everything sparkles magnificently. The open-plan, main living space is truly spectacular with a stunning central spiral staircase leading to the lower and upper floors. Opulent contemporary sofas and chairs sit on one side of the room so that you can relax, captivated by the magical views. On the other side of the room, you can dine on the sophisticated, stylish furniture, also with a view. Between the spaces there are glass floor panels and additional swanky seats. The chefs’ dream of a kitchen is exquisite with the very best of appliances and a fabulous central island where guests can keep the chefs company. Three sets of floor-to-ceiling glass doors open from the living area to the terrace and pool, also drowning these perfect spaces in natural light.
On the far side of the living area, two of the exquisite bedrooms enjoy direct access to the terrace and pool. Your kingsize beds are beautifully dressed with luxurious linens and beautiful throws and cushions. The walls are decorated with vibrant modern art and the rooms come with stunning ensuite bathrooms. The colour palettes throughout the villa are neutral and calm though there are some eye-catching colour splashes, either with the artworks or with tiling in the bathrooms. Like the kitchen, the bathroom fittings are top notch and the height of luxury. The remaining two bedrooms are on the upper floor, again luxurious havens with glorious sea and island views, sumptuous kingsize beds and an adjacent shower room. Two of the bedrooms enjoy baths and showers. The lower level living space or playroom enjoys two giant sofas that can be made up as beds should you have additional guests. The room also offers a huge television so it is a great space for children at the end of a busy day. There is another bathroom here too.
The terrace is incredible. The infinity swimming pool sits centre stage, surrounded by luxury loungers, parasols and an outdoor shower. The lawned garden is overflowing with vibrant shrubs and flowers. Towering trees frame the pretty picture. There is a beautiful alfresco lounge area with nature themed squishy seating and a covered alfresco dining area, all with stunning panorama. Your barbecue masters can cook a feast on the built-in barbecue while you enjoy cocktails while watching the sun go down. The waters are so inviting, you will soon be heading for the beach!
Villa Sparta is located on the peaceful hillside of Perigiali on the east coast of Lefkas, very close to Nidri. The stunning Dimosari Waterfalls are just over a mile from the villa, an easy walk. There are many beautiful beaches close to the villa including Pasas Beach which is only 500 m from the villa, Nidri Beach which is 2 km away, Limni Beach which is 4 km away, Ellomeni Beach 4 km away, Nikiana Beach 4.5 km and Pefkoulia Beach 12.3 km away. Among the island’s most beautiful beaches are Egremni, Kathisma and the mesmerising Porto Katsiki which is loved for its golden sands and fascinating landscape. The unique beauty of Egremni’s 2.5 km beach has made it one of the most photographed landscapes on the island. Its name comes from the impressive cliffs that surround the beach. Kathisma Beach faces the Ionian archipelago, offering fine dazzling white sand, sparkling turquoise waters and a good selection of beach bars and sun loungers. The best beaches for windsurfing and kitesurfing are Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki. Nidri Beach is very organised with an excellent watersports centre and plenty of loungers, parasols and beach bars.
Lefkas is a magical island surrounded by these beautiful, knock-out beaches and amazing coves but it also boasts a stunning, lush interior brimming with scenic hilly countryside and hilltop villages. You can climb mountain peaks and walk or cycle along the many trails admiring the special scenery and stopping at charming villages along the way. Some of best places to see are the Skari Mountain with its centenarian oak trees, the gorge of Melissa, the water springs of Dafni and Kersia and Elati Mountain. When hiking, you will enjoy old monasteries, small churches and gorgeous villages. The mountain village of Karya, is lovely with its central square full of taverna tables under the shade of a huge plant tree. Visitors enjoy the local Karysaniki embroidery, once a vital part of the national dress. North-east of Karya and surrounded by towering cypress trees, mountain scenery and craggy cliffs is Lazarata. There are two notable churches, Agios Dionissis and Agios Spiridonas. Lazarata is a great place for a stroll to enjoy the neat vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations and the red-roofed houses. You can take an organised mountain bike tour of the island, a great way to see the island from a different perspective. Some cycling tours also include the stunning neighbouring island of Meganisi. It is quite remarkable that Lefkas remains under the tourist radar and remains more of a special secret.
Nidri is the largest of the tourist towns with Nikiana is the second. The town boasts an endless list of amenities and activities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views, an excellent dining scene and beautiful scenery. Nidri and Sivota are favourites with yacht charter firms. Island hopping is very popular, very easy and very enjoyable. Excursion boats can take you to the local islets and the secluded coastal bays of Lefkas.  Ferries can take you to Ithaca and Kefalonia. The gorgeous Geni peninsula is a fifteen minute drive around the bay from Nidri or a five minute crossing by boat. Geni village is a friendly, traditional fishing village where you will be made to feel very welcome in its charming waterfront tavernas. Another fabulous place to visit is the medieval castle of Santa Maura.
