Rental Description

The immaculate Villa Azelia is located moments from the sea in the colourful village of Koskinou. It is a brilliant location just five miles from Rhodes Town in the north of the island and six miles from the tourist resort of Faliraki and the Music School of Rhodes. Koskinou is incredibly picturesque and famous for its unique mosaic of colours. Its wood and iron house doors are all painted in vivid colours and enjoy carved or etched designs. The little gardens are cobbled and so pretty behind the courtyard doors. It is a village that makes you feel happy. The newer coastal area, where Villa Azelia is located, is considered to be one of the most popular destinations for family holidays in Rhodes. The village boasts charming narrow streets, beautiful churches and chapels and a wonderful array of traditional taverns and cafes. There are countless paths that lead from the newer part to the old village with its cobbled streets and whitewashed squares full of vibrant flowers.
Villa Azelia is modern, bright and airy. It offers five spacious bedrooms, sleeping ten guests in luxurious comfort. Its living spaces are open plan in design with glossy floor tiles running thoughout. The cream and red kitchen offers all the appliances you will need for your self-catering stay, pleasing the chefs in your group. It offers a breakfast table and an American style double fridge freezer. The bright and cheery kitchen leads around to the living and dining area. Here you will discover a smart dining table and chairs under a trendy light fitting and a comfy corner sofa arrangement, perfectly positioned to watch the large wall-mounted Smart television. The neutral colour tones are calm and relaxing. Doors open to the terrace, pool and garden. Also on the ground floor, you will find two of the five bedrooms. One offers a sumptuous double bed, beautifully dressed with luxury linens and exquisite soft furnishings and the other twins which sit side by side. Guests staying in these rooms share a beautiful shower room. Upstairs there are two double rooms and another twin. Again, all of the beds are beautifully adorned with scatter cushions and matching bedspreads. One of the double rooms enjoys an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower and the other two rooms share a family shower room. Attractive artwork decorates the walls throughout the villa.
The outside space is very generous in size. As well as the main pool, there are two small swimming pools for young children which is very helpful. There are plenty of quality wooden loungers with parasols, a lovely, covered alfresco dining area and a barbecue, a huge porch with alfresco lounge furniture, lush lawns and beautiful views to the sea. It is very easy to relax at Villa Azelia. You may be tempted to stay put though the Old Town of Rhodes is only twenty minutes away and the wonderful Kallithea Springs are just five minutes from the villa. The magnificent ancient acropolis of Lindos is only half an hour away. Villa Azelia enjoys a fabulous position overlooking the sea in the charming village of Koskinou, believed to be the prettiest village in Rhodes. The village is within easy reach of the delights of Rhodes Town and is within ten minutes of some gorgeous beaches. Koskinou is famous for its beautifully painted, colourful houses and its summer festival on 17 July celebrating the name day of St Marina with music and dancing. Visitors enjoy delicious traditional cuisine in the local tavernas as well as yummy local wines. Koskinou is an exciting labyrinth of tiny, winding, cobblestone streets with fabulous splashes of red, blue, yellow, green, pink and turquoise. You feel so alive and happy meandering through the lanes. The facades, doors and windows of the 17th and 18th century neoclassical houses are bright and cheerful, many with carved or etched designs. Small patios and gardens complete the pretty picture. You won’t be able to resist peeking in! Many of the whitewashed squares are draped in colourful bougainvillea and other flowers. Kosinou enjoys an interesting history since the 4th century AD. Its 13th century medieval castle and the chapels built in the 4th century are worth visiting.
The medieval Old Town of Rhodes is an intricate warren of busy little commercial streets and delightful, quiet alleys. It is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe and has UNESCO World Cultural Heritage status. The Old Town is full of Byzantine and Gothic churches, medieval buildings, mosques, traditional fountains, oriental motifs and many boutique shops and restaurants. The highlights of the Old Town are the Palace of the Grand Master, the Archaeological Museum housed in the Gothic building of the Great Hospital of the Knights, Knight’s Street and some of the mosques. It is so alive and fun!
Kallithea is situated against a setting of world famous spa baths and stunning beaches on the eastern coast of Rhodes. Its tiny inlets and coves, sprinkled with sculptured rocks and caves, are gorgeous. Diving and snorkeling are very popular as well as the other watersports on offer. The Kallithea Spa was built in 1920 by the Italians. Following its restoration, the spa is a top sight. Many guests visit the area for its crystal clear azure waters and magical scenery.
Faliraki Beach is the most popular and most highly organised beach in Rhodes. It is more than 5km wide and offers fine golden sand, trendy beach bars, sun loungers and parasols, just about every watersport imaginable and even bungee jumping. The nightlife is incredible with fabulous restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
