You can exit directly from these areas to the terrace. The house is equipped with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and there is also fitness equipment including a treadmill.
There are two well-appointed bedrooms, one of which has a glorious en suite bathroom with large shower, and one which has a balcony terrace. There is room for two more guests on the sofa-bed in the lounge. Two further bathrooms are also found in the villa.
Villa Grayling enjoys an excellent location for visiting one of Rhodes’ most impressive landmarks, the Lindos Acropolis, which stands high on the cliffs of the pretty village of Lindos. Another significant sight, the Epta Piges or Seven Springs, lies around 35 minutes’ drive north of Pefkos, and a number of lovely beaches can be found along the route.
Rhodes Town is just under one hour away and is the location of much of the island’s best nightlife and entertainment. It also boasts world-class attractions like the Palace of the Grand Masters and its medieval Old Town, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island of Rhodes is large enough to offer a great deal of variety, but compact enough that you can cover a lot of ground in one stay. From the incredible capital in the north, all the way to beautiful Prasonisi beach in the south, there’s plenty to see.
The Old Town in Rhodes is one of the largest and best-preserved medieval cities in Europe. The Palace of the Grand Masters is the main attraction, and a walk around the old city walls offers stunning scenery along the way. Must-see sights like the Street of the Knights, Suleman Mosque and the Roloi Clock Tower rub shoulders with attractions dedicated to specific interests, including the Museum of Modern Greek Art and the Archaeological Museum.
In the south, Lindos is the biggest draw – its stunning Acropolis rivals the Palace of the Grand Masters as the island’s top heritage site. The views from this fascinating clifftop building are part of the allure, and well worth the climb to get there. Lindos is also known for its pretty whitewashed centre with many rooftop restaurants to try. Certainly a destination not to miss.
Also well worth a visit is the Valley of the Butterflies – lovely in summer when hordes of colourful butterflies appear. You could combine your visit with a trip to the Epta Piges (Seven Springs), about 35 minutes’ drive south. Swimming in the lake which these beautiful waterfalls flow into is a favourite pastime.
Down the coast from Rhodes town, you’ll find the enticing spa of Kallithea Springs, while Faliraki offers a large, well-equipped beach and a water-park that kids will love. The idyllic Anthony Quinn Bay, south of Faliraki, is a very pretty beach with crystal clear waters that are ideal for snorkelling.
Rhodes has many more beaches along the eastern coast, so look out for Afantou, Archangelos, Agathi and the highly rated Tsampika as you travel south. One of the most spectacular is found right at the tip of the island. Prasonisi is quite a distance from many of the island’s other attractions but worth the trip, especially for surfers. The wonderful surroundings and expansive sands draw in plenty of other visitors too, some of whom come to see the landmark lighthouse.
For evenings out, nightlife is most varied in the centres of Rhodes and Lindos. As well as bars and clubs, you can find some excellent restaurants, many with outdoor terraces and appealing views. Many beaches around the island also have pleasant beach bars. For the daytime, Rhodes is ideal for sports and offers activities like horse riding, scuba-diving and beach volleyball. Fantastic walking and cycling routes offer yet more reasons to make the most of the sun.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
