Five-bedroomed Gastouri Achielo is your perfect base in Corfu. Set in sleepy Gastouri village, you’re only a few minutes’ drive from the town of Corfu with rugged mountains, picturesque beaches and picturesque local tavernas. Grab an iced coffee or head for the impressive Venetian Fortress. When it’s time to unwind, the modern styled rooms with their plush beds and panoramic coastal vistas await.
The villa is in the olive and cypress tree mountains and borders Achillion Palace’s landscaped gardens (well worth a visit). The peaceful spot offers complete privacy and tranquillity. Relax on a cushioned sun lounger lining the pool, or dine on the spacious terrace with an alfresco dining table. Extra impressive features include an indoor gym, and is one of the few villas in Corfu with a tennis court. If that isn’t enough, there’s also a lift – say goodbye to hauling your suitcases up the stairs – as well as a Wi-Fi throughout and a fully-equipped kitchen for a truly home-from-home experience.
Inside the elegantly-themed bedrooms, across two of the three floors, continue the decadence. There’s an en-suite master with a walk-in dressing room, an oriental-style double, a glamour-style double and a colourful en-suite children’s twin room. The upper ground floor is where the main living room and dining area (for 12 people) are located – with direct access to the pool – while on the lower ground floor you’ll find a studio-style layout with one of the en-suite doubles, the gym and another living area. With a garage space for two cars too, getting around couldn’t be easier. 
From your serene spot in Gastouri, the popular holiday village of Benitses with its restaurants, Greek tavernas and Blue Flag beaches with crystal-clear waters is a short drive. The nearest beach is 850 metres by car. Or, you could go exploring and reach it on foot. From the villa, there’s access to a 280-metre footpath. Note: It’s on an incline, so it’s easier getting to the sand than it is getting back.  Gastouri Achielo is (as the name suggests) in the beautiful Greek village of Gastouri on the island of Corfu. It’s 10km south of Corfu town. The village, built on a beautiful tree-lined hill, offers panoramic views of the rugged coastline below. It’s home to the famous Palace of Achillion, an impressive Neoclassical palace with beautiful gardens and classical statues of Greek heroes and philosophers. There are also quaint shops, restaurants and beautiful churches in the village surrounds.It’s very quiet and has a lot of privacy, walking distance to the sea and to Achileo Palace Park. Ideal for tennis lovers!
A short drive or longer walk from Gastouri will take you to the holiday village of Benitses, where there are lovely beaches and a boat-lined coastline. Starting from Gastouri or Benitses, there are hidden trails on the slopes of the mountain. The paths go to other villages like Stavros and Agioi Deka too. From either, you’ll be rewarded with superb views over Benitses. Look out for small churches scattered on the slopes, such as Agia Paraskevi, Agia Triada and Agios Nikolaos Vrysiliotis.
In Corfu centre, the old town, with its Venetian-style neoclassical architecture is a must see. Walk along the cobbled streets between the high houses, buy traditional products in quaint boutiques or explore the pastel-coloured Venetian walls and hidden gardens. To the west, there’s a Fortress with fantastic views over the harbour. Corfu is also known for its friendly tavernas serving everything from Moussaka to Souvlaki. Sample imported beer, get your fill of pastries and delicious fresh pies at one of the bougainvillaea-draped bakeries or head to one of the sun-soaked beaches. There are plenty to choose from! Look out for water sports facilities like scuba diving and sea kayaking.
