Looking out over the Aegean sea, on the island of Mykonos is villa Callista 2. Accommodating, ten guests, villa Callista 2 is filled with comfort and character. The villa maintains the traditional Greek island design with white-washed walls, round corners and stone patios.
From the entrance, you step into an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room. The interior is comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The wide patio door lets plenty of natural light in and frames the beautiful sea view at the end of the lounge. An open fireplace centres the room opposite a built-in sofa with a flat-screen TV in the corner. Step out onto a patio, where you can enjoy your morning coffee looking out to sea. The dining room is at the far end with the kitchen set back into the villa. A low-hanging light feature hangs above the wooden table. The kitchen is tucked in towards the back and has all the modern appliances you need for your stay, including a Nespresso coffee machine.
One of the master bedrooms sits on this floor, with a spacious ensuite and plenty of storage to settle into. All bedrooms include hairdryers, and towels as well as the benefit of room darkening shades so you can lie in in the morning without being woken by the sunrise. A long alfresco dining table sits underneath a wooden pergola, against a stone wall. A white table is surrounded by white chairs and a sofa, with plenty of room for everyone to come together for an evening meal. Characterful lampshades hang above the table, bathing everyone in light when the sun sets. Walking downstairs you will find the remaining four bedrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds, ensuites and plenty of storage. The remaining two bedrooms have twin beds, ideal for children or friends sharing and separate private bathrooms off the main hall.
Outside on the main patio is the pool. The round-edged infinity pool stretches out to the sea, cooling you off as you soak up the Greek sunshine. Wood sun loungers with cushioned covers are ready for you to sink into. To one side sits a comfortable outdoor lounge, sculpted into the wall with comfortable cushions. Take an hour in the hammock, gently rocking under the sun while enjoying your favourite book or streaming your favourite show. Nestled on the south coast of the island Mykonos, villa Callista 2 is the ideal place to immerse yourself in the Greek sunshine. Famed for its ancient volcanic eruption, Mykonos formed thousands of years ago and was apparently the site of a battle between Zeus and the Titans.
Head to the local beach for a relaxing afternoon, only a three-minute drive away. With the cooling waters of the Aegean Sea in front of you, you can bask under the sunshine, enjoying the sandy beach and shade of the parasols. Cafés and restaurants line the beach, offering a welcome rest from the sunshine and refreshments to cool you and your families down. The coastline around the island is speckled with beautiful beaches, take to the waters and explore all the hidden coves and sandy shores this island has to offer.
Take a day trip to Mikonos town, one of the best-preserved, historic towns in Greece. Here you will be surrounded by classic, white-washed walls buildings, filled with cafes, and restaurants. Defined by the strong winds, the island is often referred to as the ‘land of the wind’ and has an iconic windmill landmark. 16th-century windmills overlook the Mykonos town and the sea beyond, topped with thatched rooftops and white-washed round buildings. Nicknamed ‘little Venice’, Mykonos town looks out over the sea and is one of the most famous places to visit Mykonos. You and your loved ones will love watching the sunset over the sea from the waterfront. Watching the sparkling waves change colours as the sun disappears.
From Mykonos, you and your family can visit neighbouring islands, venturing as far as the famous Santorini, taking less than two hours via ferry.
