The enticing walled terrace area offers privacy as well as some lovely features. The pool is flanked by sun loungers and a dining area with barbecue, creating a space that’s particularly atmospheric as evening falls. Overlooking this, the house also has a chilled out roof terrace. Should you wish, you can even hire a projector and watch a movie on the outdoor wall.
Inside, Villa Kruper boasts a charming open-plan living area on the pool level. There is a dining table and chairs, seating area, TV and fireplace, as well as a kitchen equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and other useful appliances.
You have three bedrooms, each one fully air-conditioned and with Smart TV and minibar. Two of the bedrooms are doubles, the other a twin. Three bathrooms, two of them en-suite, are also found at Villa Kruper. The décor, in white and neutral tones, gives these rooms a very relaxing feel.
The rural village of Lakhania offers restaurants serving Greek and Italian food, as well as a small supermarket. More amenities can be found in Gennadi, where a long, pebbly beach is perfect for hanging out. During summer, there are regular beach parties on Sundays.
It’s a great base for exploring the south of Rhodes, yet still within a reasonable distance of the many attractions of the north. The island’s capital, Rhodes Town, is just over one hour’s drive away and is a must-visit with its well-preserved, medieval Old Town, the Palace of the Grand Masters and the Street of the Knights.
Elsewhere, you have naturally beautiful areas like Epta Piges and the Valley of the Butterflies, and many more stunning beaches including Tsampika and Traganou, just off the coastal road to Rhodes Town.Full of fascinating history and idyllic countryside, Rhodes has many amazing experiences waiting for you. Its historic landmarks and countless gorgeous beaches all add to its charm, making it great for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
The capital city, Rhodes, occupies the island’s north-eastern tip. It’s known for its architecturally impressive Old Town, hailed as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe, and landmark sights like the Palace of the Grand Masters and the Street of the Knights. Other highlights including the lofty Roloi Clock Tower which will offer a fine view over the city if you make the ascent.
However historic it may be, Rhodes is very much a city of today. You will find a vibrant commercial centre and plenty of nightlife. A large casino stays open late into the night, and there’s clubbing and lively bars on Orfanidou Street and on the Old Town’s Miltiadou Street.
Rhodes is packed with restaurants, and entertainment can be found at the National Theatre and the city’s multiplex movie theatres. It’s also the home of the pretty Rodini Park, said to be the oldest landscaped park in the world, the Museum of Modern Greek Art and the Marine Aquarium, located by the busy Elli Beach.
Down the coast, Faliraki is a resort of family fun, with a well-organised beach and a large water-park. There are many more beaches down the eastern coast, most at least a little quieter than Faliraki. Look out for gems like Traganou, Tsampika, Afantou and Agathi, and right at the bottom of the island, stunning Prasonisi – this well-loved beach attracts surfers and kite-surfers in numbers.
An absolute highlight of the east coast is the iconic Lindos Acropolis – its ancient ruins are situated on the clifftop at Lindos and offer spectacular views of the Mediterranean. The village of Lindos is itself well worth a visit, with beautiful, whitewashed buildings, rooftop restaurants and laidback nightlife.
Rhodes’ natural beauty is evident when you visit two of its finest outdoor attractions. The Valley of the Butterflies is a charming nature reserve of some 600 acres, which fills with swarms of butterflies in summer. The Epta Piges (or Seven Springs) is a calming oasis with magnificent waterfalls, a lake, playground and restaurant – you can make your way between this pair of unmissable destinations in around 35 minutes.
If the Lindos Acropolis appeals, you might also enjoy venturing west to the ancient city of Kameiros – another major archaeological site which sits on a stunning stretch of coast. Other notable heritage attractions include the Filerimos Monastery, one of several around the island, and numerous churches and castles. Look out for Kritinia Castle, the rugged ruins of which are right by the sea too.At Excellence Luxury Villas we pride ourselves on going that little bit further for our guests.
