Villa Teal Blu is a fabulous, newly built contemporary holiday home in Afra, an inland village just outside Corfu Town. Villa Teal Blu comes with beautifully presented living space, three gorgeous bedrooms, three bathrooms and a fabulous garden, terrace and pool. It is just perfect for families or friends wanting to explore this wonderful island and spend much of their time in Corfu Town, the island’s vibrant capital. Corfu Town enjoys a UNESCO-listed Old Town sprinkled with cobbled streets and beautiful buildings, glamorous boutique shopping opportunities, stunning beaches and fantastic nightlife. The nearest beach to Villa Teal Blu is Alykes Potamou Beach, 1.7 miles away. Kontokali, Gouvia, Kontogialos, Myrtiotissa, Gialiskari and Glyfada beaches are all within very easy reach. Villa Teal Blu is incredibly spacious. It boasts a fantastic open-plan living space with a super cool kitchen that pleases even the most discerning of chefs. The modern wooden kitchen enjoys superb appliances. There are low windows on two walls offering lovely views of the garden and brightening the space. A painted rustic table and chairs sit close by, next to the living space. The modern fireplace is a great feature and a sumptuous corner sofa sits opposite this and the television. The villa’s clean lines, natural colour palette and cool vibe encourage you to embrace the calm. Doors open to the terrace, garden and swimming pool. A very striking open tread, sweeping staircase takes you upstairs. All three bedrooms are serene calm spaces with beautifully dressed beds, private bathrooms and some wonderful mountain views. One bedroom offers a kingsize bed and the other two enjoy double beds. One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor with direct access to the garden. In addition, an extra guest or two could sleep on the sofa in the living room. Guests staying at Villa Teal Blu adore the Mediterranean garden which boasts lush lawns, a wonderful variety of colourful flowers and an organic garden with trees, herbs, vegetables and fruits which you are welcome to pick. The terrace is just fabulous with shaded alfresco dining and lounge spaces, trendy hanging egg chairs, a large fire pit and a stunning swimming pool. It is just perfect for a spot of switch off. When you can bring yourselves to leave this private paradise, there are wonderful museums, superb restaurants, glistening sandy beaches, a palace and gorgeous cobbled streets sprinkled with unique boutiques within ten minutes or so of the villa. Villa Teal Blu enjoys a superb location in Afra, just minutes from Corfu Town. It boasts wonderful mountain views and is within easy reach of numerous sandy beaches. The nearby Kontokali peninsula is a magical spot, four kilometres south of Corfu Town and north of Gouvia. Kontokali is named after Christophoros Kontokalis, a sea captain and shipowner who was awarded the estate by the Venetians after his successful participation in the Battle of Lepanto. Corfu Town is one of the most beautiful, graceful and elegant towns in Greece. It is a very modern capital, sitting between two great Venetian coastal fortresses and boasting elegant mansions, magnificent palaces, beautiful squares and no fewer than thirty-nine churches including the beautiful Church of Saint Spiridon. The Duke of Edinburgh was born at the fabulous Mon Repos Palace. Next to the palace gardens, you will find the calm waters of Mon Repos Beach. To the north, you will discover Faliraki Beach. The nearest beach to the villa is Alykes Potamou, just north of Corfu Town. It enjoys fine sand and a very shallow sea, perfect for families. Corfu Town’s stunning architecture has many influences including Sicilian, Venetian, French and English. The entire Old Town is declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, a tightly-packed warren of cobbled winding lanes bursting with lively bars, boutiques and fine dining restaurants. You can explore timeless alleys adorned with colourful bougainvillaea. There are many interesting museums including the Byzantine Museum of Corfu which is housed in a 15th-century church, the Museum of Ceramic Art, the Archaeological Museum, the Serbian Museum, the Solomos Museum and the Asian Art Museum. North of Corfu Town is The White House in Kalami, best known as the former residence of British author, Lawrence Durrell. Lawrence lived at the house in the 1930s with his wife Nancy. Their Kalami home was regularly visited by his family including the young Gerald Durrell who later became a leading conservationist and popular author. You can visit The White House which has been owned by the Atheneos family for generations for a holiday experience about literary history, Greek hospitality and fresh seafood! The village of Kalami is surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, a beautiful peaceful spot. Gouvia is a charming, former fishing village which is now a modern holiday resort with plenty of amenities for all ages. It boasts a pretty pebble beach and a stunning marina. It also offers many atmospheric restaurants, bars and cafes along the main street of the village. Its 18th-century shipyard is still remarkably intact. The views from Gouvia are really stunning with the sparkling Ionian Sea and Corfu Town on the horizon. Vidos Island was once known as Corfu’s Alcatraz. Now it is home to wild rabbits and is very popular for its secluded beaches.
