A dip in the sun-soaked pool is the perfect way to start your day. With a jacuzzi and an outdoor shower available, as well as sumptuous sunbeds and plenty of garden space to enjoy, complete relaxation is on your doorstep, before you have even taken a few steps down to the sandy white beach below. The large outdoor space also offers a covered dining area with a grill, so that the whole family can enjoy a memorable meal together after a day spent exploring the glorious bay of Vourvourou. The terrace also provides a romantic spot for a glass of wine while you take in the amazing Halkidiki sunset.
From the pool, wide patio doors lead to the villa’s bright and airy interior living space. Here, guests will find a comfortable seating area with a flat-screen TV, perfect for lounging after a day spent out on the water. The modern, open-plan space flows seamlessly into a spacious dining area, adjacent to a well-equipped kitchen where you have the option to prepare a memorable meal at home or simply use the coffee machine provided for breakfast with a view. On the ground floor, you will also find two bathrooms fitted with walk-in showers and two lovely, bright bedrooms, one twin room and one room with a king-size bed. Both bedrooms enjoy access via patio doors to the wonderful terrace and swimming pool outside.
On the first floor you will find a similar layout to the ground floor below, with an open-plan living room (complete with a sofa bed), a dining area and two bedrooms alongside two bathrooms. The bedrooms provided upstairs are also a twin room and a room with a king-size bed. Both bedrooms upstairs have their own balconies overlooking the pool and garden, as well as the sparkling sea below. The upstairs seating area leads out to its own private balcony with comfortable seating, a tranquil space to relax with a book in peace and quiet.
Free private parking is also available on site. The villa is ideally situated for you to make the most of all that heavenly Halkidiki has to offer, from an exquisite beach right on your doorstep to exotic island escapes.
Halkidiki is a region famous for its three striking peninsulas, encompassing dense pine forests, traditional villages, magical islands and serene, sheltered bays.
With an archipelago made up of nine islands, the village of Vourvourou (located in Sithonia, the ‘second finger’ of the Halkidiki peninsulas) is a truly enchanting example of all of the natural beauty that this little-known gem of the Aegean coastline has to offer. Whether you want to spend the day sunbathing before dinner at your local taverna, or exploring secluded coves and inlets by boat before a picnic on an uninhabited island, the pristine turquoise waters of Vourvourou Bay are a fine place to start.
The sandy beaches and calm waters may provide plenty of temptation to stay on the mainland, but a boat trip around the nearby islands is really not to be missed. There are plenty of options for boat rentals to be found along the main beach, or at the northern end of the bay. Boats can be rented without a license here, giving you ample time to cruise the crystal-clear waters, stopping at your leisure to swim or snorkel near hidden beaches. If you would prefer to sit back and relax, take one of the many island cruises offered to visitors.
Whichever way you decide to spend your time on the water, make sure that a visit to Diaporos is on the agenda. The largest of Vourvourou’s cluster of islands, Diaporos offers a truly exotic getaway. The island draws visitors in with its stunning blue lagoon, where the crystalline waters must be seen to be believed. Make sure to bring some drinks and snacks with you for the trip, as you will not want to leave this Halkidiki treasure in a hurry. On land, the island’s terrain is made for hiking and nature enthusiasts, with trails from the beach taking you through Diaporos’ gorgeous woodland. Don’t forget to stop off at Myrsini Beach, a paradise picnic spot under the shade of the pine trees.
It is of course worth exploring the other islands of Vourvourou, such as Agios Isidoros, Ampelitsi and Peristeri (this little islet is less than one kilometre in length, with its own beautiful lighthouse from which you can look back at the views of the bay). After a day spent island hopping, make your way back to the mainland in time to soak up the sunset from your villa before a well-earned dinner at one of Vourvourou’s excellent restaurants.
