This home might be tucked away in a small coastal town, but its eye-catching architecture and chic interior design would have it turning heads in any major world city. The best place to enjoy these coastal vistas has to be the from the heated infinity pool, though it’s safe to say that they’re no less impressive from the surrounding white terrace, which comes complete with a lounge area and alfresco dining table. Linger out here for as long as possible, then head inside and continue gazing out at the scenery through the villa’s oversized windows.
Inside, the property is flooded with natural light which is allowed to flow freely about the open-concept layout. If you’re anything like us, you’ll fall head over heels with the contemporary design features here – the sleek grey kitchen, in particular, is a thing of beauty – but there are a couple of nods to the local culture as well, including the wicker lampshades and botanical print wall.
Speaking of local culture, it would be impossible to talk about Saint-François without mentioning its world-renowned agricultural rum, which the town has been producing for hundreds of years. Made from pure fermented cane juice rather than molasses, this famous spirit is delicious both on its own or mixed into a cocktail. Treat yourself to a glass in your gorgeous home from home, then set off for an afternoon of sunbathing at nearby Manganao Beach.
With the centre of Saint-François just five minutes away by car, you won’t struggle to find things to keep you occupied here but if you need any help in making the most of your time on the island, the concierge can help you organise water sports, outdoor activities or even massages. It doesn’t get much better than that.
