Get a taste for the local side of Venice at this minimalist apartment on laidback Giudecca. You’ve got a handful of traditional Venetian restaurants and cafes on your doorstep, plus some of the city’s most beautiful (and least-visited) churches nearby in the Chiesa di Santa Maria and San Giorgio Maggiore. The furnishing is functional but comfortable, with a pull-out sofa bed if you’re travelling with an extra guest. We love the spectacular views overlooking the canal, and how easy it is to get into central Venice – St Mark’s Square is just ten minutes away by water taxi.
