Originally a 13th-14th century fort, this restored holiday villa in Tuscany in the Valdarno valley now provides a luxury, eco-friendly retreat or venue for up to 16 guests.
Divided into two properties, the estate is tastefully decorated with a blend of modern and traditional features, with period furnishings throughout. The main villa includes six sizeable bedrooms with en suite baths, some with private lounges, a gorgeous modern kitchen, and multiple dining and lounge spaces to gather the group. Guests can enjoy access to a fitness room with a sauna and Jacuzzi, as well as a spacious living area that’s easily convertible for conferences.
The annex consists of two additional bedrooms, and is warmly inviting with its wood burning porcelain stove and cozy living room.
Surrounded by olive plantations, vineyards, and forests, the estate grounds are prefect for entertaining, with a BBQ and pizza oven, large patio and pergola with valley views, and a sparkling pool.
While in a peaceful rural location, the villa is just 14km from the cultural centre of Florence. Be sure to stop by La Bottega in nearby San Donato in Collina for local delicacies – from delicious cured meats and regional wine, to house made focacci.  In the heart of a large rural estate, Villa Forte is set in a delightful, relaxing and untouched corner of Tuscany on the Val d’Arno hills, only 14 km from Florence in the direction of Arezzo. The villa is located near San Donato in Collina and is within close distance to the cities of Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Lucca, Pisa, Assisi and Urbino.
All of the electric energy is generated by solar power. The air conditioning, heating and cooling systems are generated by geothermal energy.

ToursThe owners can organize a private guide to accompany guests in the streets ofFlorence. Below are different tour proposals but the guide is very happy to tailor any tour to individual desires.
Tour 1 :A classical tour suggested for first time visitors that crosses all the main monuments, 3 hours long. The religious heart, including the Duomo, the Baptistery, Giotto’s bell tower and Brunelleschi’s Dome, is first. The medieval quarters with the house-towers is second. Finally, the political heart with the city hall, palazzo vecchio, signoria Square and the famous old bridge completes the tour.
Tour 2:This is a 2 hour private walking tour starting from the ‘Duomo’ area, the religious heart of the city, and progressing through the tiny and narrow streets of the medieval quarters. Guests will see the highlights of Florence, the Signoria Square, the old bridge, and St. Croce until they reach the ‘Oltrarno’ where artisans still work at keeping ancient traditions alive.
Tour 3:This is a full-day tour of six hours. It starts with a visit to one of the most important museums with the original Michelangelo masterpiece the David Statue. The guide will help guests skip the huge waiting lines. After the museum, the walking tour moves into the religious heart of the city, where guests will see the baptistery, the cathedral (Duomo), Giotto’s bell tower and Brunelleschi’s Dome. After a break for lunch, the tour moves to the political heart of the city: Signoria square, old bridge and the inside of the most beautiful church of Florence, Santa Croce. It has Giotto’s 16th century frescoes and Michelangelo’s, Galileo’s, and Machiavelli’s tombs.
Tour 4:This is a 3 hour evening day tour for curious children. Summer is very hot in Florence, so guests will enjoy the breeze of the evening with an accurate tour of the secrets and legends in this ancient town. The Roman town, the towers, and the hidden narrow streets are especially exciting for children that get bored of seeing monuments or for adults that want variety. This is a unique experience to see Florence from an unexpected point of view. The last stop is always for the best gelato in Florence. The cost is 50 euro per hour.
