Villa Moltrasio is the ultimate Italian luxury retreat on the edge of Lake Como. It was built in the early 1940s based on a design by the architect Pietro Lingeri. Its architecture makes it a unique place overlooking one of the most romantic lakes in the world, Lake Como.
Bound by Cultural Heritage, it has returned to its former glory and has been returned to the territory to which it belongs after appearing, as a symbolic building of an extraordinary era, in the Encyclopedie de l’Architecture Nouvelle.
Located in front of the Comacina Island, Villa Glamor enjoys a privileged view of one of the most evocative corners of the pearl of northern Italy.
In the main building, guests can decide to dine outdoors or simply spend time in the garden to admire the beauty that the surrounding landscape offers.
Throughout the complex, great use was made of Moltrasio stone, partly plastered and partly exposed, and large glass openings that offer brightness and liveliness to the interiors.
The uniqueness of the decoration, style and exclusive furnishings integrate perfectly with the modern and rationalist style of the villa.
Outdoor
Outside you will also find a heated lake view pool (8.5 x 3 meters) with Jacuzzi while a wellness and Spa area, with Jacuzzi and sauna, will be ready to pamper you and make you enjoy moments of relaxation in the indoor spaces where they are there is also a cinema area with 60 ”TV and Sky connection and a cellar.
Attractions
Possibility of boat / canoe / paddle / surf / pedal boat rental. Just 200 meters away there is a tennis court but, always on foot, you can reach the nearby Comacina Island or visit the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio. Bellagio is just 10 minutes by boat, Villa d’Este in Cernobbio a quarter of an hour. The city of Como is just 25 kilometres away, that of Lugano less than fifty, Milan is 74 kilometres and St. Moritz about a hundred.
Interior Description
The patio, partly green and partly paved, enters into direct relationship with the living rooms on the lower floor, penetrating the volume that reopens on the attic floor, resolved as a loggia.
A dining room with office, the kitchen and a study face north-west.
A large and bright staircase rises from the passing atrium.
The ramp splits on the landing, connecting the living area to the upper level and to the terraces.
The owners’ four bedrooms overlook the lake, while the guest room, bathroom and wardrobe open onto the opposite side.
The colours of the villa were chosen by Lingeri according to a personal chromatic program, attentive to the light gradation: the main façade is finished in squared eggshell stucco, the external windows in olive green fir and the patio beams are painted in salmon pink.
