Or, take a seat at the piano and provide your holiday with its own soundtrack. Wake up to charming garden views from any of the bedrooms and enjoy breakfast with family or friends on the terrace. Foodies will especially enjoy rustling up an Italian feast at the kitchen island, but there’s also a barbecue if you’re after something a bit simpler. Cetona is a gorgeous hilltop town that attracts celebrities and archaeologists alike (Valentino even owns a palazzo here), and make sure to spend one of your days at the nearby Lake Trasimeno. Return to your villa in the evening to share a bottle (or two) of Tuscan wine as you admire the sunset over the hills.
