Rent Villa Orange Jellyfish Tuscany
Holiday Home Rental Description
The first thing that grabbed us at this Italian country villa was the fabulous swimming pool. Set in the lawn and surrounded by trees, it’s fed by a waterfall and is crowned with a huge, integrated Jacuzzi. We could spend days just lazing on a lounger, poolside, in the Tuscan sun. Exploring the grounds, you’ll find olive groves, a stone barbecue, and terracotta-tiled terraces for sundowners and long lunches.
Then there’s the history of the place. At the beginning of the 18th century, this villa was gifted to Maria Maddalena Buonaparte, whose family would eventually include Napoleon Buonaparte. Owned by the same family since 1805, some of the furnishings and features remain preserved with plenty of modern upgrades for comfort. Two grand lounges on the ground floor come with the winged velvet armchairs and darkwood dressers of times gone by, while dining for the whole group can be taken under vaulted brick ceilings. In the kitchen, a range-style cooker has been updated to gas, but there’s still an old-world feel to the tiled counters and terracotta floor.
Location-wise, this villa is perched in the countryside between Florence and the coast. A forty-five-minute drive in one direction will see you at the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and all of Florence’s iconic sights, and forty-five minutes in the other sees you at the sea at Livorno. The heart of San Miniato, with its wine bars, grocery shops and restaurants, is just a five-minute drive.
